12.01.2022 A new measles alert has been issued for people who were in Hamilton Hill and Jandakot between October 17-20, as health authorities battle the worst outbreak of ...measles in the state for two decades. The Health Department says a person with a confirmed case of measles visited several public areas in these suburbs . "Children and adults who have been inadvertently exposed are at risk of developing measles if they are not already immune," a spokesperson said. Individuals should remain vigilant for the onset of measles symptoms for the next three weeks if they are not immune to measles and were present at the following venues, during the specified days and times: , : Pear Tree Caf, Hamilton Hill 7.50-8.30am. Scarvacis (IGA), Hamilton Hill Shopping Plaza 5-6pm. , : First Choice Liquor Market, North Lake Road, Jandakot 4-5pm. , : Bakers Delight, Simms Road, Hamilton Hill morning , : Scarvacis (IGA), Hamilton Hill Shopping Plaza 10.30am to \noon Optimal Pharmacy Plus, Hamilton Hill Shopping Plaza 10.30am to noon. BNB Fresh, Simms Road, Hamilton Hill afternoon. People with measles typically develop symptoms approximately 10 to 18 days after exposure. Early symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose and sore eyes, followed by a red blotchy rash three or four days later. The rash usually starts on the face and spreads to the rest of the body. There have now been 54 measles notifications year to date, of which 28 cases have been reported since 30 September 2019. Dozens of additional staff have been mobilised and are working around the clock to track down people who may have been exposed to the incredibly infectious disease.

10.01.2022 One of the biggest issues in youth basketball is coaches locking kids into specific roles at a young age. Example: The tallest kid on the team being told to stay in the low post for the entire game.... > Dont dribble. > Dont shoot outside the key. > Dont guard on the perimeter. This problem was made clear when I received this email from a player some time ago: === "Hey, Im 14 and im the biggest player on my team and can score close to the rim any time I want. I score about 20 points every game. My coach told me to Im not aloud to leave the key but Im good in other spots on the court too. What shots should I be working on do you think? === My answer? All of them. Form shooting Free-throw shooting Three-pointers Midrange 1-dribble pull-ups 2-dribble pull-ups Floaters R+L hand finishes Post moves The goal is to become a great scorer from every area of the floor. A coach may prevent you shooting from certain areas of the floor during games (I hope not), but theres nothing stopping you from practicing scoring from all areas of the court when youre training individually. If you lock a player into one spot, you dramatically decrease their chances of success at the next level. Which is why I always recommend running a "positionless" offense in youth basketball. Meaning - every player can fill every position. And my go-to recommendation is the 5-out motion offense. Its... Positionless Develops decision making And players love it. Download the guide which will show you how to teach this offense to your team in only 4 weeks here: Championship Coaching Course That means before the start of the season! - Coach Mac
