14.01.2022 Springfield U12 Blazers (BYPL) played Logan Lightning at home in blustery conditions. The first half started slowly with low energy. Playing into the wind was difficult, but the boys were able to scrape out a scoreless half. The second half, didnt start the way we wanted and conceded 2 early goals. ... The boys kept going but were unable to link up to bridge the deficit, ending with a 0-2 loss. Keep working hard boys in transferring our training form into the game. Man of the Match goes to Yakub Ozer.

11.01.2022 Two good wins for the cap lads tonight Shout out to Adam from club sponsors Orion Family Physiotherapy for coming down and getting the boys match ready

11.01.2022 U14 Wolverines Vs Tarragindi Tigers We arrived at the Tarragindi tigers home ground at it started to rain.. we thought this game was going to be played under wet conditions but the rain held off as our boys started their warm up phyced for another win !!! As the sun broke thru the clouds and only 6 mins into the first half John shot an amazing goal from the right hand side finding the back of the net and bringing the score to 1-0.... Now will motivation our Sufc boys made some amazing shots at goal but not finding the right direction and getting shut down by Tarragindi. After some amazing bicycle kicks, superb headers, air rebounded kicks, body abstractions and more left foot shots at goal ... we got another shot at goal with Will made a left foot shot at goal in tut 26th minute bringing the score now to 2-0. Tarragindi eager to score bit not able to get past our strong defence line with Rhys Alister Rohan and Danny !!! The wee all over the balls and shot the bells down not allowing any chance for Tarragindi to score !!! At the end of first half the score held with a 2-0 lead from our boys !!! Then coming off field coaches gave the boys some good tips and point to enhance their game going into the second half ... In the second half Sufc boys were keeping the pressure on and the suspense built for a great second half!!! In the 10 minute into the second half Tarragindi got their opportunity to shot at goal our Goalie TJ used all his power strength and agility to obstruct the ball but unfortunately was able to get past him and achieve the fluky goal resulting in TJ injuring his right knee. On the ground in pain for some minutes grabbing his knee coach Michel going to his aid... TJ then gets to his feet there was a roar and a cheer from both Sufc parents and the Tarragindi parents also!!! Then the game resumed... And both teams excited to finish this game with a 2-1 lead now SUFC still wanted to gain an even stronger lead. Then about 3/4 thru the second half an amazing shot at goal from Xander who was about to find the opening and find the back of the next. As the whistle blew Sufc was satisfied they had a another great win to amazingly good game... From my observation each week the boys are certainly improving each and every week... We awarded the team with 6 man of the match awards from the beginning of season!!! First game was awarded to Kyam for his goal shot. Second game was awarded to TJ as he met us in the game as we lost that game The third game was awarded to Alister amazing improvement over the past 5 games. The forth gene was awarded to Rohan with an amazing shot from the defence line... And this game we awarded 2 awards to John and Danny as there shots at goal were outstanding and shutting down in defence was amazing!!! Well done team another great win !!!

10.01.2022 U13 Fireballs hosted Slacks Creek on field 1 - good turn out by the boys today after last weekend. The boys showed good determination to get to the ball first today and with only mins into the game we broke through the middle of their defence and slotted the ball into the net 1-0 up... Slacks Creek surged forward but our back 4 stayed strong- this left them short at the back...we broke free 3 more times but the offside rule beat us, and went into the half time break with a n...arrow lead..... The second half created chances for both sides and we lost our shape in mid field but continued to fight for every ball - a fantastic run down the left created space and the ball was cut back across the goal and we slotted in our 2nd.... the tussle continued in mid field and our defence held strong and we walked away with a positive 2-0 win. goals by Lewis and Bobby Congratulations to Bobby on the man of the match award and acknowledged well by the players

10.01.2022 U6 Kangaroos took on the U6 Colleges Redbacks at home on Saturday. Each week we see the boys confidence improve and this week we saw another leap. A great game by all boys, but Yousef and Rian stepped it up for the team. Zyan continued to dominate the field with some great attacking runs. The scores were kept moderate by great defence from Dominic, Seth and Mitchell. This weeks player of the match goes to Yousef. Great game boys!

08.01.2022 A local derby for the U16 Girls today, as they took on Ipswich Knights. The wind, regrettably, played a factor as both sides struggled to gain control in a robust encounter. Knights took the lead with a sweeping move, minutes before Tyra Perry equalised with a long range shot that fumbled through the Knights keeper. The second half was immediately marked by a Knights long range strike that drifted over the Springfield keeper, followed by a furious onslaught as the home team sent chance after chance begging. The final score was 2-1 to Knights. Next week, our U16 Girls travel to Annerley. Both sides are seeking their first win this season, so it should be an interesting clash.

03.01.2022 U13 Bombers (Div3) played away to AC Carina today, with the strong wind making it a hard game. We started with the breeze, which was not preferred, with Carina putting up some strong defence stopping us from taking advantage of the wind. Good teamwork enabled us to get forward with birthday boy Riley getting the opener in the 15th minute. We had a few more opportunities in the half, but the goalpost and shots just to the side of the goal meant no goals. ... Carina got the equaliser just before HT from a ball into the wind that like it was way over the crossbar, but the wind pushed in back and it fell just in under the crossbar. Despite being into the wind, we controlled a lot of the possession in the second half, with Ryan putting away our second 5 minutes in. Carina threw everything at us but the boys held on in the last 10 for 2-1 win. Hoping for no wind next week
