The SVC Badminton Army is in terrific hands with former Olympic and Commonwealth Games and Australian Badminton coach Lasse Bundgaard coaching the boys each Friday. Last week our boys participated in an extended training and Come & Try session where they all received a free Yonex racket, courtesy of the College and the Yonex 2020 Smash Tas Tour. 17.01.2022 A great day of cricket today for the annual Coyle-Clingeleffer Grade 9 Cup. Prior to the game it was a great thrill to have SPC Old Boy Tim Coyle speak to both teams, highlighting the great cricket tradition between out two schools. Batting first SVC made 9-161 thanks largely to Captain Will Simaan 47, Jacob Goodsell 19, Krystian Jankowiak 19 and Daniel Cassidy 13no. Xavier Tras with 38 also helped! In reply we were unable to put enough pressure on the SPC batters, bowling too short and too wide for much of the innings. SPC passed our total 4 down with 17 overs to spare. Pick of our bowlers were Jake Fehlberg with 1-5 and Jacob Goodsell 1-10. Congratulations to SPC on taking back the Cup which we have proudly held since 2017. We look forward to its return to Hobart in 2021!

17.01.2022 Amazing Spring weather today as we welcome our visitors from The Hutchins School and Corpus Christi Catholic School for a Grade 5/6 Round Robin Football Tournament. 6 teams (2 from each school) doing battle over the course of the day on both the Main and JPC Ovals. Big thanks to Mrs McCullagh for organising the day and to our Grade 10 students for umpiring.

17.01.2022 More photos from Tuesday's successful SSATIS Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to all athletes.

Both teams played hard and fair, in a high tempo and highly skilled exhibition of schoolboy football at it's best. Well done boys. In its 3rd year, this football match is a Year 9/10 game and aims to honour one of SVC's former students Alex Gadomski and to raise awareness and much needed funds for The Alex Gadomski Fellowship.all in order to find a cure for bone marrow fai...lure. Two great schools with plenty of sporting rivalry and tradition, coming together for a terrific cause. 01.01.2022 Congratulations boys.....2020 SSATIS Grade 7/8 Champions. SVC Blue 6/203 defeated MacKillop 9/114. SVC lost the toss of the coin and were put in to bat by MacKillop. The batsmen had one objective - to score as many runs as possible in their time at the crease. Joe McGann set the tone with a six and a four off the first 2 balls. After that anything that was loose was dispatched to the boundary. Wickets did fall in the desire to accumulate runs but every batsman was able t...o score runs with all of them, bar one, having a batting rate of over 100. Having set a sizeable target the team set about their defense. Dylan Scott and Rhys Wilkinson bowled well restricting the batsmen to 10 runs off the first 4 overs putting MacKillop well behind the required run rate. Wickets began to fall at a steady rate with SVC continuing their attack backed up by very good fielding and catching. In the end SVC worked well as a team to come away with the win. Best batting were Alex Gill 37 not out off 20, Dylan Scott 33 off 20 retired, Joe McGann 27 off 12, Jake Holmes 27 off 16 and Mason Devlin with an innings ending 11 off 4 to take the total over 200. Best bowling was Alex Gill with 2/12 off 2 overs, with Nick Roberts, Lachlan Davey, Ben Williams, Ethan McLeod, Luca Di Venuto, and Mason Devlin each taking 1 wicket. Ben Williams took 2 catches, McLeod and McGann one each, a stumping to Holmes and a shared run out with Nick Roberts. A good result achieved through a good team effort. Well done to super coach Mr Barry Maxwell. See more
