09.05.2022 Introducing the fabulous fashionistas who run our Op-Shop and Community Store! If you need a frock for a school ball, or a whole house-worth of furniture and homewares as you transition from rough sleeping into safe accommodation, our volunteers have got you covered. They've got a flair for design (check out their window displays!) and a smile for everyone who comes through our doors. ... What you won't see is the huge effort that goes on behind-the-scenes to collect, sort, clean, transport and store the generous donations we receive from people all across Perth. So three cheers for our van wranglers, sorter genies, sales magicians, fashion addicts, bargain hunters and retail divas. We love you all And thanks to Volunteering WA Lotterywest for sponsoring these beautiful photos by Duncan Wright Photo For more images check out our website: http://ow.ly/m4kw50JbOCm #NVW22 #BetterTogether #freolove #stpatsfreo

07.05.2022 As you all know (because we may boast about it a bit ) we have a dedicated Health and Dental clinic at our Day Centre in Freo. But did you know that most of our health practitioners are volunteers? From acupuncture to optometry, chiropractic to podiatry, we've been very fortunate to have so many people donate their time, energy and skills to us every week. Has #NVW22 got you thinking about volunteering? Volunteering WA has a handy database of opportunities to suit a range of... skills and schedules. 01.05.2022 Throughout this week we are saying thank you to our wonderful volunteers. We would like to make special mention of one of our most treasured volunteers, Dee. Dee is not volunteering with St Pat's at the moment due to health concerns but we wanted her to know that she is very special to us all and we appreciate everything she has done for St Pat's over the past 9 years. Dee you are an and a shining

23.04.2022 Some of our volunteers have been working at St Pat's longer than our staff, while some of our staff started out as volunteers. This reciprocal relationship ensures we maintain strong ties within our community. And even as we've grown over the past 50 years, expanding to become part of more, diverse and wonderful communities which make up this place we call home, our volunteers have ensured we've never forgotten our roots.... Today, we give our thanks to just a few of those who've been with us through thick and thin, Brian, Carmel and Rob. Legends, every one. And special thanks to Volunteering WA and Lotterywest and Duncan Wright Photo for giving us a chance to take a snapshot of our unsung heroes. #BetterTogether #NVW22

03.04.2022 Our volunteers are a dab hand at a range of jobs - from helping people pick out snappy outfits and furniture at our Op Shops, to preparing delicious breakfasts and lunches from scratch in our commercial kitchen at our Day Centre in Freo, to giving a hand with our IT and helping us run art and skateboarding workshops. If you've ever thought about volunteering, this #NVW22 is the time to think about what skills you might be able to share to help grass-roots organisations like St Pat's make our communities #BetterTogether. Thanks to our volunteers Maeve, Lia and Pia and Dave, for letting us use their beautiful faces, with special thanks to Duncan Wright Photo for his fabulous images, made possible with the support of Volunteering WA and Lotterywest.

21.01.2022 In the lead up to the Lord Mayor election this Saturday 17 October, much public debate and reflection has been stirred up around the complexities of addressing homelessness. Contributing to the discussion is Perth art collective The Statue Review whose guerrilla art installation The Shelter Seat appeared at a Perth train station last week. The installation features a comment that Mayoral candidate Basil Zempilas made to The West Australian newspaper, which he has since reconsidered his position on. The seat was removed within hours, but its impact will surely last much longer.

02.01.2022 Today was a special day here at St Pat's. In celebration of #NAIDOCWeek, we were lucky to have local elder Brett Collard perform a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony. St Pat's Starlight Hotel Choir jammed with the singers from Madjitil Moorna and Wlayup Kannahil, including renditions of traditional Nyoongar songs. To finish we enjoyed a hearty meal of Kangaroo Stew and damper. Thanks to all who came and shared in the fun. #NAIDOC2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe
