25.01.2022 Becouse STRiDA Bikes are equipped with Belt drive and Disk brakes maintenance is almost nil. just check your tyre pressure periodically! happy riding

25.01.2022 Great testimonial from a STRiDA customer in Melbourne. Thank you Russel! Living in a busy inner suburb it made sense for me to get a bike but I didn’t have anywhere to store it. After procrastinating for a few years I came across the Strida bike. It folds up to almost the size of my golf bag and it is lighter!... It’s great to ride and quick to fold so you don’t have to leave on the street when going to an appointment, just fold and leave in reception. I can even fit it in the front passenger seat of my car and take it to the country. If you are considering a bike, particularly a folding bike then you must have a look at a Strida. See more

25.01.2022 Step 4: Know your rights. One of the most common mistakes that people make when they have been involved in an incident is to say sorry for some its a natural reaction when things occur. By law if you say Sorry or apologise its an admission of fault which can be used against you if other parties are involved. (i.e police and/or insurance companies) Being in an incident is traumatic no matter how big or small. Your adrenaline is running and the natural fight or flight res...ponse kicks in. Due to being in this state you cant always tell how seriously you could be injured due to the adrenaline masking your pain. . . . . . . . . . #STRiDA #safetysteps #imsorry #liability #admission #fault #adrenaline #injury #ride #safe #negotiate #knowyourrights #understanding #bikelaws #victoria #australia #ride #bebold #befree #compactbike #foldingbike #summerishere See more

24.01.2022 Today is our first day back from the holiday season and it is has been tough in Australia. We are going to take this week to promote the different ways in how you can assist if youre feeling a little helpless to assist with the bush fires that are destroying our country. There is a lot of misinformation and we know everyone wants to help. We understand that donating money is always the best form of support however not everyone can afford to donate. If you feel stuck we hav...e made a little list of what you could do to help if you so choose. SUPPORT Leave a bowl of freshwater outside for animals in fire-affected areas. Head to Airbnb Open Homes or Helping Homes Australia to offer up any spare rooms you have. Check out @blazeaid or https://blazeaid.com.au/ to see how you can help rebuild fire-affected communities. Donate blood! Lend an ear to anyone who might need it. Call the local councils after the fires have been put out and see if you can volunteer your time. After the fires are out go to those fire affected towns for a holiday; spend money there doing you bit to help their economy get back on its feet so they can thrive again. Be conscious of water restrictions in your area. SHARE Start a conversation with your friends and stay informed about how you can help. We are so so grateful for the heroic and selfless work of those fighting the fires and the kindness shown by individuals and communities both in Australia and abroad. . . . . . . . . . . #STRiDA #help #Ausisonfire #savethekoalas #keepwatch#staysafe #dowhatyoucan #donate #wildlife #wildlifevic #everypennyhelps #onesmallact #gowithemptyeskies #whattodo #confusingtimes #dontgetlost #prayforrain #wearegratful #cometogether #communities #everylittlebithelps #giveblood #rebuild #homesforall @blazeaid @wildlifevictoria @redcrossau_vic

24.01.2022 Hello again, apologies for the break in posting but we are back on track. @schabernorbert has been busy supporting the Stop Fining Healthy Transport with the @freestylecyclists group. We believe in safety but we also believe in our community, the responsibilities that come with riding a bike and respecting an adults choice in how they choose to protect themselves. This is a major point of discussion in the riding community. What are your thoughts? Do you believe as a respo...nsible adult and member of your community that you should have the right to choose to wear a helmet or not? Or do you believe it should be mandatory? Wed love to know your thoughts so please comment for a healthy open discussion. . . . . . . . . #strida #stridabikes #bikes #helmet #saftey #wheredoyoustand #tohelmet #ornottohelmet #thatisthequestion #comment #healthy #stopfininghealthytransport #transport #australia #melbourne #freecycling #discussion #community #responsibility #knowyourrights

24.01.2022 Since the start of the 2019 fire season, more than 6.3 million hectares have burned across Australia. At least 23 people have been killed, more than 1,700 homes have been destroyed, and an estimated half a billion animals have died. And these fires arent showing much sign of slowing down the fire season isnt over yet and some say its just starting. Once these fires are finally over, it wont be over for many of the local businesses in fire-ravaged towns. A lot of thes...e places (like my home in Mollymook, and Mallacoota, Kangaroo Island, Eden, etc), rely on the tourist dollar for their very survival, Turia Pitt posted on Instagram (Shes one of the fabulous people who started the #Spendwiththem movement to help in this horrific situation.) The initiative was inspired by the #BuyFromTheBush campaign, which encourages Aussies to spend their dollars with rural boutiques and brands as a way of keeping vital dollars flowing into drought-affected communities. Check out some more ways to help assist the bushfires without directly donating money. Any support is always greatly appreciated it. https://www.broadsheet.com.au//bushfire-relief-spend-these https://www.timeout.com//you-can-help-bushfire-relief-by-d - list of venues assisting with profits to go to bushfire aid https://www.broadsheet.com.au//bushfire-relief-where-shop- - list of retail venues giving profits to the bushfire aid @Spendwiththem & @buyfromthebush - Supporting local businesses that have been directly affected by the bushfires and drought. 23.01.2022 Still wanting to ride during bushfire season? Live close to high impact areas? Here are some useful tips to keep safe during Australias Bush fire season. Always check weather conditions and the Fire Danger Rating for the area youre riding in before you leave. Work out how you will stay informed. Be mindful that you may ride in an area where you cant get phone or internet service. Monitor conditions while you ride, when you stop for a rest, check for warnings or any c...hanges in the conditions. Tell people when you will leave, where you will go and when you expect to return. Make sure you have alternative routes out of an area in case roads become blocked. Always have a plan for an emergency. Fires can start from something as simple as a cigarette butt thrown out of a car window. Know if there are any Neighbourhood Safer Places, places of last resort or Community Refuges along your path. If you happen to see or smell smoke or flames, head for the nearest built-up area. Always put safety first you could put your life, or lives of others such as emergency services workers, at risk if you ride in dangerous conditions. Water as we know water in Australia can mean life or death make sure you bring enough and know where you can fill up. Check the air pollution, the fires have created high levels of carbon monoxide we suggest wearing a mask however this is not guaranteed to 100% work but assists with filtering the air. We will be adding in some tips tomorrow about what to do if you come across fire affected wild life on your ride. Stay safe, and remember the fire season isnt over, the communities affected will continue to struggle even when the fires are out so if you can donate, volunteer, visit with #emptyeskies or spend at places that are donating profits to the fire victims. Every little bit helps. 15.01.2022 Final Step Once the incident has been documented it now time to allow the third parties eg. Insurance companies/police to take over if there are claims pending or if further action is required. We advise you to allow your insurance company to do the talking on your behalf as they are professionals in this particular industry and should understand and know the laws regarding your incident. If an insurance company calls you and you have the means to have a lawyer speak on yo...ur behalf we do encourage this as insurance companies main purpose is to place fault. If you do not have the means you are entitled to ask for the recordings of your phone call and/or not have your phone call recorded. We advise that you do not say sorry but keep a factual time line of the events so have your pictures and notes ready from the incident. Emotive language can be an admit ion of fault. You are also entitled to ask the insurance company to clarify any terms/laws/conditions/language if you are unsure. We hope that none of our riding community ever has to go through this, but if it does happen we just hope you now have more information to assist you during a difficult time. 14.01.2022 Car Dooring what is it? Rule 269(3) of the Victorian Road Safety Road Rules 2017 states it is an offence to cause a hazard to a person or a vehicle by opening a car door, leaving a door of a vehicle open, or getting off, or out of, a vehicle. Opening a door on a passing cyclist is a $141 fine in Victoria Please note that this offence covers a range of situations when people are getting in or out of vehicles - for example opening a car door into the path of a bike rider, dis...mounting a motorcycle, or stepping out of a bus. Did you know? One of the biggest risks to bike riders is car doors being opened into their path. The bike rider may swerve out further into the road or collide with the car door, often with serious consequences. Between July 2011 and June 2016, there were 771 car doorings involving bike riders. Of these two were fatalities and 177 were serious injuries. The proportion of car dooring crashes involving bike riders is much higher in the Melbourne CBD and surrounds. So remember to always look before you open your door on a busy street! . . . . . . . . . #STRiDA #ridesafe #compact #bike #foldingbike #design #law #roadrules #dooring #keepsafe #ridesafe #ecofriendly #cars #fatalities #serious #injuries #cbd #melbourne #victoria #crashes #lookbeforeyoumove

14.01.2022 Step 2 of STRiDAs guide to what to do in an accident in Victoria, Australia. When there has been an incident where injury or damage has occurred it is best to contact the authorities. The authorities should have a clear understanding of the road laws to assist in the incident and make it an official record. Why is it important to have these things reported correctly? This is to assist with you if there are any other parties involved such as insurance and/or T.A.C. In these ...types of incidents the more information that you have (eg, police statements, witness statements and pictures) the better the position you are in to protect yourself. . . . . . . #safteyfirst #saferide #STRiDA #ridefree #whattodo #incident #victoria #australia #laws #rules #injury #damage #record #report #assist #information #witness #pictures #knowyourrights #foldingbikes #compact #envirofriendly #fitness #wellness #outdoors See more

05.01.2022 After a bushfire, a lot of wildlife will be affected but you may not be able to directly see the damage done to these poor creatures. They may be suffering burns to their feet and/or tails that cannot be seen, or they may be suffering the many other types of injuries caused by fires such as smoke inhalation, dehydration and starvation. Injured wildlife can be found months after the fire has passed. Minor injuries can result in infection and death if left untreated. Injured... wildlife may be coming onto your property for food, water or shelter Should you find wildlife in need of help please call 03 8400 7300 or log the details online at www.wildlifevictoria.org.au. Their emergency response operators will assist you in getting help to that animal. Displaced and injured wildlife will most likely be stressed, so try and keep as quiet as possible when approaching or handling. The less people interacting with the animal, the better. Keep pets away from the animal as well. If you've got domestic pets, don't bring wildlife indoors. If you have found an injured animal that is safe to contain such as a bird or a possum, do not attempt to feed it, just wrap it gently and loosely in 100 per cent cotton fabric, then place it in a ventilated box with a lid and keep it in a dark, quiet place for transport to the nearest vet or whilst waiting for a rescuer. Whether you're already dealing with injured wildlife or you just want to be prepared to help, you can leave out lots of water in different sized containers and bowls. It's best to use shallow bowls with a few sticks or stones on one side, so smaller animals can escape if they fall in. You can also keep a cardboard box and a couple of towels in your pack or on your bike rack, in case you come across an injured animal and it's safe for you to handle them. Keep them in a dark, quiet place if you're waiting for it to be collected by a rescue organisation or if you're transporting the animal. 01.01.2022 any bike can do it, on a STRiDA you can do it all the time!

01.01.2022 We are still seeing the devastating effects of the bush fires here in Aus. So we are going show you how by just riding your Bicycle can assist in helping our environment. @SchaberNorbert is passionate about his STRiDA and rides it every day to keep his carbon foot print as low as possible. Here are 3 of his favourite reasons why he rides: 1) No air pollution It is no secret that using a vehicle that burns fuels add to the air pollution. The smog, carbon monoxide, and othe...r toxins emitted by vehicles are especially troubling because they leave tailpipes at street level, where humans breathe the polluted air directly into their lungs. That can make auto emissions an even more immediate health concern than toxins emitted high in the sky by industrial smokestacks. 2) Reduce landfill waste One of the encouraging green facts is that 75% of the parts of a car are recyclable, but Argonne National Labs estimates there are still at least 3 million tons of non-recyclable shredder residue head to landfills each year. If you bicycle more, you will create less wear and tear on your car, which means you can keep it on the road (or in your garage when youre biking) longer and reduce your contribution to the landfill. 3) Protect wildlife The annual death toll for animals killed in car related incidents are approximately 10 million ranging from bats to birds, wombats to roos . Reduce the KMs you drive each week, and youll help reduce the impact on our wildlife. . . . . . . . . #STRiDA #Foldingbike #ecofriendly #zeroemissions #howyoucanhelp #savetheanimals #howcanyouhelp #ride #free #exercise #wildlife #landfill #contribution #reduce #protect #compact #bike #bicycle #wildlifevictoria #healthychoices #betterfuture #STRiDAbikes
