25.01.2022 STUARTHOLME Sacred Heart Family Today we celebrate the 220th birthday of the Society of the Sacred Heart RSCJ International and offer a special mention and cong...ratulations to our Sisters Rita, Kath and Gennie for the anniversary of the Society. Despite the challenges of the past year, we feel great hope for the future, and we ask that you join us in prayer: For vocations to the Society of the Sacred Heart, that women who are passionate to live and spread the love of the Heart of Christ will have the courage to join this little Society as we discover new ways to serve God’s people; For the women and men who share our mission and spirituality as colleagues, associates, friends and family, that their lives will be energized by the vision and courage of Sophie and Philippine; For our upcoming Special Chapter, that the Society will listen deeply to the spirit like St. Madeleine Sophie, be courageous like St. Philippine Duchesne, and know the faithfulness of the Heart of Jesus as we strengthen and renew our life and mission. #wearesacredheart #stuartholmeschool

12.01.2022 KRB alumna Avril Bradbury-Hoath. Daughter of Jodie Bradbury-Gunn (1987) Avril featured in Stage Whispers, a Sydney theatre magazine, this month for her work in costume design. Avril completed her major work in design at KRB in 2016, going onto complete her Cert III in Fashion and TAFE, and is now studying for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Costume) at NIDA. Avril combined history and design at KRB which sparked her interest in historical garments. Her major work tells the stor...y of 'the Radium Girls', a group of women from the 1920s who painted watches with poisonous materials. With 67 hours spent on her creation, Avril details her process of creating newspaper fabric as well working with UV lighting to create 'glow in the dark' fabric for her piece. We are so please to see Avril’s success in her specialty area and wish her all the best with her future in costume design. 09.01.2022 Annabelle Carey a 2019 graduate and trail runner will be taking on the Blackall 50km race on October 17th in support of the young people of Pushing Barriers (PB), a Brisbane based charity which help refugee youth be included in club sport. Pushing Barriers is a Brisbane based non for profit organisation with the primary objective being to improve the lives and welfare of refugee youth by providing them with opportunities to be included and welcomed into Australian culture thr...ough club sport. These youth do not have families with the capacity to support them to play sport therefore PB assist with club registrations and fees as well transporting them to training and games. Volunteer drivers become role models to these young people. With the COVID 19 pandemic this year they have been unable to fundraise and are needing financial support. It would be devastating to think that many of these young refugees would be unable to play sport next year, considering the huge impact it is having on their lives, helping them to feel connected in their new country. Please consider sponsoring Annabelle with a financial donation to help assist refugee youth be included in Australian club sport. To find out more about Pushing Barriers and how you can help please go to http://www.pushingbarriers.org/

Dear Sisters and Family of the Sacred Heart, We ask your special prayers for the RSCJ community of Avigliana, located in the region of Piemonte in the north of Italy. The community has been overwhelmed by the Covid-19 virus. Our sister, Adele Manzoni, died yesterday. 3 more sisters are gravely il...l and 9 more sisters are suffering from the virus. 12/23 sisters in the community are ill. Please pray for Luciana Lussiatti who is on the provincial team and lives in Avigliana. She is a doctor and is caring for all the sisters. Maria Gaczo from the province of Poland who is working on the Villa Lante Garden project has offered to go to Avigliana to help. We thank her and her province for making her service available for our sisters. Our call is to pray for our sisters in this time of particular suffering. Let us pray together Psalm 27: The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? [...] I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
