16.01.2022 The best Canva hack and shortcut If you’re anything like me and design all your business graphics in Canva then you’ll love this little hack! I use it ALL THE TIME ( )... The following keyboard shortcuts: + + Allow you to duplicate any item and then paste it either in alignment with the original or to move it freely in your design. I use this every time I need to start a new text box, so my font style copies across I use this to duplicate elements so I can create patterns symmetrically I use this to copy elements like lines and shapes to quickly create things like questionnaires and workbooks Am I ranting? 14.01.2022 Branding Tip - The number one rule of great branding is consistency. Consistent brands not only look professional, but they also foster a sense of trust and help build long term relationships. Mis-matched branding on the other hand creates a sense of distrust and unprofessionalism.... I’ve seen this happen in particular on social media, in which businesses have very different looking accounts which leads to confusion. This will turn potential customers away. Brand consistency needs to run through every place your business is represented, mainly being your website, social media accounts, print materials, etc. The best way to ensure consistency is to have a brand board (you can grab one for free in my Brand Hive freebie goodness via this link: suiteblissstudio.com/brand-hive/). #smallbizbranding #diydesign

08.01.2022 Are you guilty of not using all your branding elements effectively? Here’s a quick tip of how you can easily level-up your branding game. Do you have an all white or black version of your logo/logo submark that you don’t really use...ever? ... If you do and don’t know how to use it in your designs, try the following: 1. Hop into Canva and create a new design (any you like). 2. Upload your logo (black or white). Make sure it has a transparent background - aka a PNG file. 3. Add a contrasting brand colour to the background. Voila, you have a whole new way to use your logo on things like: Social Media Pinterest Graphics Your email footer E-books/Freebie downloads Thank you notes Stickers Leaflets Etcetera etcetera Give your brand a chance to show up uniquely wherever it can. 02.01.2022 What do different file types mean for your small business designs? If you’ve ever wondered about different file types and when you should be using them, I’ll tell ya! If you’ve DIY’ed your own logo and brand you’ll probably have PNG and JPEG. ... PNG is my favourite for overall use. It’s transparent so you can put your design over anything. It’s also generally a larger file so the quality will usually be good! JPEG I wouldn’t recommend using for your logo. The background isn’t transparent so unless you want a white background placed over everything, its not great. However, using it for saving photos is great because it reduces the file size and will make things like your website load quicker. If you’ve gone through a designer for your logo and branding then you probably have SVG and EPS files too. Oh la la! It’s unlikely that you’ll need to use these yourself unless you’re familiar with design platforms like Adobe Illustrator. These files will mainly be required if you ever get any further design work done or get stuff printed so they are handy to keep around just in case. I hope this helps clarify the different uses for your small business, comment below if you have any questions See more

01.01.2022 There’s no point in trying to talk to everyone. Being different is the best way to attract raving fans and loyal customers. Answer the below questions to test out if you have a differentiated brand:... What is your business name? What do you do? Why does it matter? I bet Questions 1 and 2 seemed ridiculously easy. Question 3 is where people get stuck, but the devil is in the detail. If you know the answer inside-out, upside-down, side-to-side then you’re well on your way to a strongly differentiated brand. It’s really vital to differentiate and focus on the people you serve. There’s no point trying to talk to everyone, as no one will hear you. Don’t be afraid to niche and talk specifically to your ideal customer. BEING FOCUSED = BEING COMPETITIVE Spend some time getting to know your why and let it be the thing that makes you unique in your business. #womeninsmallbusiness #brandingforwomen #brandstrategist
