13.01.2022 Suction Ear microscope Until recently GPs had no option but to remove ear wax either physically with a curette (often uncomfortable) or by syringing with water (with the potential of perforating the ear drum). We now offer the option of using our suction microscope without the need for referral to an ENT surgeon. It is always helpful to soften the wax with "Ear Clear" for 3 days if possible, prior to any form of removal. This equipment can also be used to remove debris from outer ear infections or foreign bodies from the ear or nose. Dr Shelley Bourne and Dr William Nguyen perform this procedure.

Shelley worked in Far North Queensland as a rural GP and Skin Cancer Doctor, then in Toukley as a GP/Skin Cancer Doctor and then moved locally to be closer to family after having her daughter in 2018. Shelley has a special interest in Skin Cancer Management, Child Health, Womens Health (including implanon insertion for contraception and shared antenatal care with Hornsby Hospital) and travel medicine, including Yellow Fever vaccination.

07.01.2022 WHAT WE ARE DOING TO KEEP OUR PATIENTS, RECEPTION STAFF AND DOCTORS SAFE DURING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAKS IN NSW. We have limited the number of patients in the waiting room and ask all patients to wait in their car or sit outside and your Dr will call you when its your turn. We encourage all patients to wear a mask when seeing their Dr and use the hand sanitizer provided as soon as you enter and leave the surgery. It is important to maintain physical distancing. Please leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others where possible and combined with good hand hygiene, the spread of COVID-19 can be slowed. If travelling on public transport or visiting the supermarket it is recommended that you wear a face mask for your own safety and the safety of others.

Our team of Drs who specialise in skin cancer diagnosis will advise you, depending on your circumstances, whether you would require further monitoring, excision or biopsy, including all after care. We look forward to hearing from you to make an appointment.
