17.01.2022 At the age of 40 I decided to once again pick up the guitar, something I had played a bit as a teenager. After a couple of years using books or the internet to learn, I found myself in a rut and frustrated. My playing was not really improving and usually just played the same songs every night. As with a fitness personal trainer, I needed a coach who continue to challenge me, whilst guiding me with correct form and a structured approach to learning. During my first lesson Pe...ter took the time to listen to what I wanted to achieve with my playing and has continued to structured my lessons around this. Since beginning weekly lessons with Peter, I have broken a lot of my bad habits, improved my technique and he is teaching me the theory behind navigating the fretboard. In less than six months I have learnt to play things that I had struggled with for years prior. Peter is an awesome guitarist, it would be easy to be overwhelmed in his company, but his enthusiasm for teaching is very evident and I often feel that he is as excited to be in each lesson as I am. His studio is a great environment for the lessons and his relaxed approach helps me to focus on the job at hand. I would have absolutely no hesitation at all in recommending Peter to others wanting to become better guitarists".

17.01.2022 My daughter has been taking electric guitar classes with Peter for almost a year now (2019) and has demonstrated an incredible growth and flair in her guitar playing skills thanks to Peters fantastic training. Peter is a true professional and an amazing musician - he is also a very patient teacher who knows exactly how to keep his students motivated with constant encouragement, expert guidance and his inherent wit, humility and great sense of humour. My daughter went from a complete guitar novice to passing with Merit a Grade 3 AMEB Rock School exam in October this year, all because we had a rock star teacher who goes by the name of Peter Mengede - rock on Peter! 07.01.2022 Thanks to Matt Taylor for inviting me to guest on his Boosting Shapes podcast recently. Peter Mengede is a Brisbane raised guitarist who moved to the other side of the world to co-found the hugely popular Noise Rock/Groove rock band, Helmet. Life after Helmet, Peter also went onto to found another very solid rock band in the form of Handsome and has toured the world in both bands. Peter talks about his journey from a teenager in Brisbane, to emptying out Brownstones in Manhattan for minimum wage, before embarking on world tours with acts like Faith No More, Ministry, The Melvins and many other high profile bands of the 90s.

07.01.2022 Thanks again for the lesson this afternoon. I learnt more in 60 mins than Ive probably learnt in the last six (arguably 25) years and am looking forward to putting it into practice. It has certainly inspired me to get my guitar set-up into shape again. Graham M
