21.01.2022 Join the ranks of the Kangaroos Australian Football Club South Rockhampton & Gracemere for the 2020 season. Check out the setting for their preseason camp on Great Keppel Island last year. "The GKI weekend was used to bring the team together to share a beautiful location for a night. We completed an intense training session on the first day followed by a leadership session facilitated by an outside provider. During that session, we established our trademark (values) and goa...ls for the year. We then completed an ultimate Roos challenge designed to test the boys cohesion and strength as a team. This was followed by sunset drinks and cricket with the evening a chance to unwind and get to know each other more on a personal level. The next day we revisited our values and made revisions where we thought necessary before going on a team walk to another beach on the island further building our relationships. We then enjoyed lunch together before setting back off for the mainland with our new values and trademark set for the season." "Id like to thank the Port Douglas Crocs Football Club, 2019 has been a great gap year experience for my son Josh. Travelling from one end of Australia to the other and meeting new people, players and coaches from across the country have seen him grow both as a person and a player. The club assisted and ensured he found suit...able accommodation and most importantly a good job. They were in constant contact with us as to how Josh was doing both on and off the field and the players made him feel a part of the team immediately, helping him settle into the club and a new town. Despite having come from a Division One competition in the Hampden League and playing TAC Cup with the Greater Western Victoria Rebels, Josh gained invaluable experience from his time at Port Douglas and was able to further develop his football. He represented North Queensland in the curtain-raiser to the Gold Coast Suns v St Kilda Football Club game, was awarded Best on Ground in the Cairns All-Stars v Indigenous All-Stars representative game, won his first Senior Premiership with the Crocs and received the CAFL Rising Star Award.
