22.01.2022 Glorious day in Sydney today. 21 degrees celcius (70 Far), deep blue sky and not a cloud in sight. Hard to believe it's almost the middle of winter. These pictures were taken on The Chowder Bay to Balmoral Walk, from a clifftop spot near Frenchies Cafe. Hard to believe you are in the middle of a city of 4 million people. 08.01.2022 If you're expecting to be in Sydney in October 2018 don't forget to have a look at the Scupture by the Sea free event, which is set along the 2km coastal walking trail between Bondi and Tamarama beaches. This is the world’s largest free public sculpture exhibition. And the walk is arguably Australia's best coastal walk. Lots more pictures of last year's event at:> https://www.sydney.com.au/sculpture-by-the-sea.htm

04.01.2022 http://www.sydney.com.au/crater-cove.htm This short walk takes the adventurous to the secretive Crater Cove on the foreshores of Sydney harbour. The main attarction here - apart from great harbour views in a secluded spot - are seven stone and timber abandoned huts built by fishermen and others that stand as a forgotten chapter of Sydney's history. People occupied the huts and enjoyed a subsistance lifestyle there - cut off from the rest of the world - until 1984, when they ...were evicted by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). The walk into Crater Cove isn't signposted and relatively few Sydneysiders know about the huts, let alone having visited them. The huts, some of which date back to the 1920s, are hidden away in the Sydney Harbour National Park, on Dobroyd Head. They are not promoted by the NPWS, and although people aren't encouraged to go there, the NPWS doesn't prevent visitors from walking into the cove. It's a pleasant 50-70 minute walk and seeing the huts in the cove setting is worth the effort getting there. If you decide to walk there, please respect the huts and the environs around the cove, and make sure you take your rubbish out with you.
