24.01.2022 Hi Playsession Families, our new certificate 111 students who have just started their studies, have by now all approached many families to ask permission to observe the children for their required assessment tasks. To all the families who have been approached by a student we thank you in advance for your regular attendance (if you cant make a day please phone Simone on 6773 774). The students planned a water experience based on the interests of the childrens play last week - spare clothes are advised and as always a broad brimmed hat.

22.01.2022 Great to see so many families today. Mother Nature brought us much needed rain today, which was not quite the waterplay the students had in mind for the children. Hoping to back to sunshine and warmth next week.

20.01.2022 Hi all, here is the link for Armidales UV rating for the day. Any rating above 3 begins to damage skin and we are at 7 today which is high, so please remember your hats and sun protection out there. http://www.bom.gov.au/uv/

20.01.2022 The wonderful weather last week, saw many of our children engrossed in the sand play- cooking, building and creating. According to Sue Crook, 2004 "Children require periods of uninterrupted time to explore materials, often up to an hour. This in turn generates play with depth and facilitates understanding of breadth of play materials." Such absorption was certainly seen in the sandpit. See you all at our final playsession for the year on Friday.

18.01.2022 What a fabulous way to begin our first Friday Playsession of the term. Mother nature was very kind, bringing warm weather, which allowed our students to finally bring out the water tray for play. The children enjoyed the water play in the shade of one of our large leafy trees. It is encouraging to see families supporting our sun safety policy by wearing their hats.

14.01.2022 Hi from Diploma 1 Friday group, We are excited about this week with our beautiful weather, but please check the UV rating below before you come and remember your hats. 07.01.2022 Last Friday at playsession, several children joined each other at the playdough table to experience rolling, cutting, poking, squishing, pinching, coiling the playdough. The children also used the playdough to demonstrate the knowledge they have and shared this through their creations of daddy and baby snails. Please enjoy our playdough recipe:... 1 c. flour 1/2 c. salt 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. water 1 tbsp. oil 1 tsp. food colouring Combine flour, salt and cream of tartar. Mix liquid and gradually stir them into dry ingredients. When smooth, cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until ball forms. Remove from heat. Knead until smooth See you all this week

05.01.2022 Friday Families: Just a reminder that this will be the last week of play session for 4 weeks as our Certificate III students head out on workplacement and then we have TAFE vacation break. Friday play session will resume on October 10th. Wednesday Familes: Business as usual for the next 3 Wednesdays with our Diploma students and TVET group. Feel free to check on dates at play session this week if you are unsure about anything.

04.01.2022 This week at playsession the balls, pipes and trolleys were a hit. Many children gathered around the ballpit posting balls, and watching them slide down and out the tubes. There were a range of children of different ages all experimenting and learning in their own way. Of course, skills such as refining / practicing the hand / eye coordination can be observed. Learning how the ball fits into a certain space. Learning how to catch, roll and push balls can also be seen. The po...tential for social/ emotional development on this day was enormous with children coming together, sharing the balls or waiting for a turn and sometimes learning to negotiate conflict. On deeper level yet, thinking skills of many children was facilitated with problem solving of where the ball went and identifying the colour of the balls. Coordination and using both sides of the brain are often involved linking the process to thought and language skills. See you all at playsession this week. See more

02.01.2022 Hi Playsession Families This week our Friday Diploma students will be completing the play activities they have been setting up for their focus children. With the continuing warm weather we will have lots of water play, which is a valuable activity for young children to develop social skills such as sharing, turn taking as well as thinking skills encouraging experimentation and investigation. Dont forget your spare clothes and hats. Yesterday at Wednesdays playsession chi...ldren enjoyed building houses from waffle blocks cardboard boxes and sheets, encouraging adults to come and join the picnic of sticks, leaves, dirt and rocks in the digging patch and behind the shed. Dolls were bathed and put to bed and dishes washed. Your Playsession team

01.01.2022 Parents and Families: please note that Playsession will not be running tomorrow. Check your emails for dates and watch this space for an update. Staff and Students look forward to seeing you all soon.
