25.01.2022 FREEDOM CRUISE SET FOR SEPTEMBER! The Riemore Downs Cruise Group invites all to join in the Cruise on Sunday the 13th of September starting at 10am and finishing with a picnic in the park and a car show. Starting from Lot 205 on the corner of Old Coach Rd and Riemore Circuit at 10am for a 1015 departure we will cruise to Canungra for coffee, to Mt Tamborine for an ice cream and back to Lot 205 by 12 noon for our picnic in the park. Tamborine Lions will have a sausage sizzle available and Cuppa-Lucius will have a variety of drinks available. Display your vehicle in a Covid 19 manner and enjoy the picnic. Join us in your classic or modern car, bike or truck. Fingers crossed for the weather this time. Thanks, Syd Norman

Unfortunately, the Freedom Cruise is definitely cancelled due to the weather, we will update with new schedule when it comes to hand. ... FREEDOM CRUISE IS DEFINITELY ON TOMORROW Syd says: "Well, the Freedom Cruise is definitely on Sunday the 26th (tomorrow). Escape the Estate for a short cruise and return for a car show with a sausage sizzle by the Lions and the Coffee van will be there too. All meet up on Lot 205, corner of Old Coach Rd and Riemore Circuit at 10am for a 10.15am departure. Cruise to Canungra for morning tea then up the Goat Track to Mt Tamborine for ice cream and back to Lot 205 for a Picnic In The Park and the chance to view our great cars and bikes on display. We are aware that showers and storms are forecast this Saturday afternoon / evening and will be keeping a close eye on the weather. We will advise here on our page if the Movie Night will proceed or not as close as possible to 4:30 pm on Saturday. In the event that the Movie Night is rained out on Saturday 31st, we will postpone until Saturday 7th November, again commencing at 6:00 pm with a costume competition prior to the start of the movie. If the event is rained out again on 7th November we will unfortunately have to cancel the event altogether. 17.01.2022 CAR CRASH ON WATERFORD-TAMBORINE ROAD Several vehicles were involved in a car accident around 3.40pm this afternoon, with some having to be towed. Apparently - and thankfully - no one was seriously hurt, although ambulances attended the scene and took some of those involved away for treatment. The road was blocked for almost an hour in both directions causing traffic heading out of Tamborine to be turned back. It has now been cleared leaving the long queue of traffic travelling into Tamborine able to continue on with their journies. A timely reminder to take care on the roads for the school holidays starting today!

05.01.2022 THE PAWGUST EVENT IN YARRABILBA Raising Funds For Guide Dogs By Walking Because they are passionate about supporting people living with disability, the PAWGUST 2020 event will be held on behalf of Guide Dogs Australia during the month of August. Participants will be walking 30 minutes a day for 30 days with their pooches (thats roughly 2km every day) - which is no small feat in the winter weather - to raise vital funds for Guide Dogs and support their puppies currently in training. And thats where you come in! With your support, you can help to change and improve peoples lives by helping current Guide Dog puppies in training. Plus, it will also inspire participants to complete their 30 minutes each day! Thank you for your help.

02.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: GRAVEL TRUCK ROLLOVER IN TAMBORINE Around 8.25am Monday morning on 10 August, a truck carrying gravel turned onto Bullock Team Way in Riemore Downs Estate, missed the turn and became involved in a rollover accident. The driver was shaken but apparently, luckily unhurt. The local Tamborine Rural Brigade attended the scene along with two units from the Queensland Fire Service, an ambulance and local police. Two truck assist units arrived to 'right' the truck which took until almost 11.30am to clear.
