24.01.2022 We have been very lucky, had some gorgeous new goats born, here are some twins exploring Dylan’s backyard in Melbourne. Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing any, we have a couple left

24.01.2022 Getting to know the piglets and Melania better! I need a shower after...

24.01.2022 Bones our 8 day old calf is finally out of the woods after getting a chill in the last rainy weather. He’s very cute and is Elizabeth’s new shadow

22.01.2022 Getting value from our 60 year old International McCormick tractor! A challenge to assemble and hitch, but the disc plough is 'ploughing through' the task, and the chooks love its churning capacity. The old tractor needs a longer lifting arm so the hydraulics can lower the plough even further into the soil, yet another followup task to be done. This big area will become our orchard and large vegetables area, helping to feed the piggies and, oh, ourselves!... Melania Trump is very, very pregnant... Piglets imminent!

22.01.2022 Bones is far more active now, and observing correct Work Health and Safety rules!

19.01.2022 Melania Trump our saddleback has had 9 piglets! Mother and very proud father, farmer Simon, doing well We will let the piglets stay with mum for over a month, before selecting one to tame inside and outside. Simon is INSISTING on this, they are so precious and playful when young.... Anyone able to keep a pig may pm us to reserve one at a reasonable price.

17.01.2022 Bringing the sheep in for drenching and vaccination. Here is Mum with a wobbly bum and her twins, bringing up the rear

17.01.2022 Bones the Holstein steer is getting very affectionate!

14.01.2022 NEVER leave Liz in the hardware store for 30 mins! A bit of irrigation installation happening! #sudoku #lego #puzzlelovers #plumbing

13.01.2022 And Bones saw his first children today! Both kids and steer very happy

13.01.2022 Another 11mm of rain yesterday, such a perfect spring and summer so far. Cows still hard to spot in the pasture sometimes!

12.01.2022 A quick chat about our pasture mulching success. Thanks to the weather too, of course

09.01.2022 So much happening lately! Here is what 38 tonnes of lime being unloaded looks like. After having a soil test done, we are implementing some of the agronomist's recommendations, spreading lime and gypsum across the pastures (but not the nature reserve area, that stays natural). We are getting very into regenerative farming, so will not be using artificial fertilisers, and no longer considering an invasive, tilling approach. Just managing the pasture and stock in the most natural way.

07.01.2022 Here at the farm, whe we say ‘keep the front door shut’ , this is one reason why! Simon was bringing in some heavy shopping, so left the door open for 30secs...

06.01.2022 And they’re racing! Hope this cheers some folks up

06.01.2022 Poor Shepherd, got into a fight with his son Dozer and came second-best! So he has to wear his cone for 2 weeks. Dozer will end up permanently in the outer paddocks if he keeps this up!

05.01.2022 Collecting Phalaris seed for next year, this was over two weeks ago. The growth this year has been incredible! But no more collection any more, the risk of snakes is too high. We have seen 2 within a week

01.01.2022 New ducklings!!
