19.01.2022 It is with sadness that we announce that Tamworth Marsupial Park will be closed until further notice. From today, Tamworth Regional Council has made the decision to temporarily close 150 parks across the region, including the closure of all playground equipment. The moves are in line with the Federal Government’s recommended controls to slow the spread of COVID-19.... Sport and Recreation Manager, Paul Kelly, said the closures are aimed at reducing groups of more than 10 people coming together and to limit the spread of COVID-19 through multiple use of equipment. The clear message we have from health experts is that we should stay at home unless necessary, but some residents are continuing to gather at our parks without following the recommended social distancing, he said.

18.01.2022 We are open again! The Tamworth Marsupial Park and Tamworth Adventure Plaground reopened in line with easing of COVID-19 health measures on 1 June. The park and playground are open from 8:00am to 4:45pm daily.... Please note: Barbeques remain closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Park users must comply with social distancing and should always practice good hygeine.

18.01.2022 The weather may be cool, but some of our animals certainly don't mind! Teddy is certainly enjoying his new enrichment feeder, kindly put up by staff and volunteers.

17.01.2022 Ticks are part of the Australian environment and are present in most natural bush settings. Due to the previous period of prolonged dry weather, there is an increased presence of bush ticks at Tamworth Marsupial Park. Action has and is continuing to be undertaken including the spraying of public areas.... If you're visiting the Marsupial Park please take note of the information regarding ticks that we have posted on the entrance gate. It tells you how to recognise, check for, and safely remove ticks, if required. You can also access information via Tamworth Regional Council's website: https://bit.ly/2QcCXmC To reduce the likelihood of being bitten, you can spray yourself with an insect repellant containing DEET before arrival.

13.01.2022 Found this happy little guy near the footpath at the Emu enclosure. Remember if you encounter one during your visit to look, but don't touch. If there's a chance they could be in the way or in danger, let a staff member know and we will be happy to relocate them.

08.01.2022 Tamworth Marsupial Park including Tamworth Adventure Playground remains closed for the time being. The park has a licence to display animals and advice from the NSW Department of Primary Industries is that it should remain closed until Step 2 of the National framework for a COVIDSafe Australia.

07.01.2022 If you come up to the Marsupial Park today, you may notice a new cockatiel getting around. Citrus came to us via donations and had recently struggled adapting to being in some of our aviaries due to being used to companions with other people. Thanks to our staff and the help of a dedicated volunteer, Citrus is doing much better and is now getting used to the enormous amount of space to fly about in our free flight aviary!
