24.01.2022 Tamworth sporting car club will be conducting round 2 of tri- series Challenge at Oakburn park this Sunday. Competitors from the MG car club in Newcastle, and the Kempsey sporting car club will be competing against a strong field of local cars & drivers for bragging rights to the tri- series champion. The event starts a 9.00am on Sunday the 16th of August., the canteen will be operating all day Sunday,. Unfortunately because of COVID-19 there will be no spectators, but any club members wanting to give a hand will be welcome. Thank you. T.S.C.C.

24.01.2022 Tamworth sporting car club hosted round 2 of the 2020 tri series challenge today the 16/8/2020 at Oakburn park. A very overcast, cold, windy but thankfully dry day greeted 39 cars and drivers, with 19 cars and drivers Making the trip from Kempsey sporting car club, only 6 from the MG car club in Newcastle and 14 from the Tamworth club. Kempsey driver Darren Reid driving his Hayward Hybusa racecar showed no mercy on the opposition when he won by almost four and a half second...s with a time of 33.367 secs, from Tamworth’s Nick York driving his very rapid Mitsubishi Evo With 37.862 secs. Third outright was Tamworth‘s Brad Stehr driving his very potent Nissan 200SX with a time of 39.157secs. In the classes and 4th outright, Gundy Hunt, Westfield clubman 39.437secs. 5th outright and third in the over 2,000cc sports sedan class behind Nick York and Brad Stehr was Jackson Halloran driving his very quick V8 powered Mazda RX7 on 39.594secs. The over 3.0 litre special vehicle class was won by Kempseys Dean Mears in a Nissan 180SX with a time of 40.123secs. Type one vechiles over 2,000cc was won by Tamworth Rick Patterson with a very quick time in a standard Hyundai i30 on 41.546secs. Type 2 Vechiles over2,000cc went to Kempseys Matthew Oram driving his 6.0 litre Commodore with a time of 42.825secs. Type 3 over 2,000cc was another Kempsey member in his 5.0 litre Commodore with a time of 42.679secs. Type 2 under 2,000cc was Kempseys Brett Sunderland in his Ford XR4 on 43.896 secs. Type 3 under 2,000cc was Tamworth Joshua Neil driving his old but quick Alfa Sud With a time of 45.719secs. Type 1 under 2000cc was Tamworth’s Jason Newling Driving his Mazda SP20 on 47.409secs. Type 4 under 2,000cc was Newcastle’s Micheal Taylor driving his old but still fast Morris Minor with a time of 47.577secs. Fastest junior on the day was Kempseys Will Oram driving his dads Commodore 42.200secs, and last but not least was fastest Lady, Newcastle’s Karen Wilson driving a Ford Focus with a time of 41.470secs. 21.01.2022 Any competitors who are entering the Come and Try Day on Saturday 20 February and considering also entering the clubs first 2021 points round, the lap dash on the Sunday 21 February will require both a club membership $90 for the year, Motorsport Australia speed licence $130 for 12 months to enter and the entry fee of $85. The club suggests if you intend on entering the Sunday event also to complete and pay by direct debit for your TSCC membership prior to the Saturday and t...hen a club member can assist on Saturday afternoon prior to leaving the facility with completing your Motorsport Australia Membership form. The track is looking a bit furry at the moment, so as many mowers, slashers whipper snippers as possible would be very appreciated. 19.01.2022 Tamworth Sporting Car Club will be holding its annual Xmas party at Oakburn Park clubhouse on SATURDAY 12th of DECEMBER starting from 4.30 pm. The club is provi...ding a lamb on a spit with salad and SOFT drinks, all for a gold coin Donation. So all you have to bring is yourself, your esky with your favourite alcoholic drinks, some chairs to sit on, and maybe some nibbles. 16.01.2022 Hey guys and gals, last event of the year is coming up on the 15th of November, keep an eye out for entries, hope to see you all there. Event will be run under Covid rules so all paperwork will have to be submitted before the deadline.



16.01.2022 Tamworth sporting car club would like to let all our members know that the hillclimb that was to be held at Porcupine lookout road at Gunnedah next Sunday the 6/9/2020 has been CANCELLED. GMEG sent me an email at 12.42pm today to notify me of their decision. Covid 19 being the main reason, causing a lack of entries and helpers to run the event. Hopefully everything will be back to normal next year. Keep safe everyone T.S.C.C.

14.01.2022 12 of our club member’s travelled to Morgan Park Raceway at Warwick in Qld at the weekend for round 1 of the 2021 Qld supersprint C series, with a number of our drivers putting in some brilliant performances. Armidale based Tamworth member Jackson Halloran drove brilliantly in his V8 engined Mazda RX7, To win 1st place outright, out of a full field of 109 cars. he also won his class, Sports sedans over 2.0 litre with his excellent time of 6 Min 58. 329 secs for 5 laps of ...the 3.0 kilometre circuit. Another Armidale based Tamworth member Matt Carey driving his Holden Gemini finished 4th in Jacksons class with a time 8min 23.618 secs and 57th outright. 10 outright and second in the 1601 to 2000cc sports car class was yours truely Gundy Hunt in our Westfield clubman with a time of 7min 30.117secs. Third in this class and 25 outright was young Bailey Lynch, driving his Subaru BRZ coupe to A very respectable time of 7min 51.014 secs sixth in the class and 49th outright was Baileys Dad Stephen Lynch, who’s Mazda MX5 just couldn’t match the young fellow, Stephens time was 8min 14.425secs. The over 5,000cc class for improved production cars, was a fine win by Tamworths Scott Simmonds,who hurled his big 6.0litre Commodore around the track for a great class win and 20th outright with a time of 7min 44.426 secs. While young Tamworthian Dean Platt drove his V8 Falcon to 5th In this class and 63 outright with a time of 8min30.323secs at his first attempt at Morgan park. In the improved production class 4001 to 5000cc Tamwoths Matt Barnes driving his V8 Falcon, finished a very creditable 2nd in class and 33rd outright with his time of 7min 56.180secs. Improved production class 3001 to 4000cc was another Tamworth win, with Col Tomkins, Nissan 180Sx coupe proving to quick for the opposition winning the class and and 24 outright with a time of 7min 50.768 secs. In the under 2000cc sports sedan class Tamworths Wayne Toomey drove his giant killing little escort to yet another class win with a time 7min 49.857secs. Three Tamworth drivers Gary Weiland, Kee’s van der Horst and Brett Slingsby, failed to finish the event due to mechanical issues. See more

11.01.2022 T.S.C.C. will be holding its annual general meeting tomorrow night Wednesday the 9th of December at West Tamworth Bowling club starting at 6.00 pm. ... PLEASE NOTE. This is a very special meeting as there will be a representative from Jukestodd P/L from Qld to show us the plans and proposal for a new racetrack and Drag Strip at Oakburn park. This is your opportunity to come along and view what’s offering and have your say. The club would like to see as many members both past and present and future, and anyone with a Motorsport interest come along and see what’s offering. 10.01.2022 Tamworth sporting car club held its last lapdash for 2020 today Sunday the 15/11/2020. A small but enthusiastic field of 17 cars contested the event in hot (34degree) and dry conditions, with most peoples times a little slower than normal. Fastest time of the day went to young gun Brad Stehr in his very potent Nissan 200SX Coupe with a time of 39.5410 secs, Brad was closely followed by Gundy Hunt in his Westfield Clubman on 39.5440, a mere 3/1000s of a second behind Brads tim...e. Third fastest time went to Brian Cox in his Hyper sprint car on 39.6600 secs and the first time Brian has broken the 40 second barrier with this little 600cc rocket ship. In the classes Wayne Toomey scored a win in the under 2.0 litre sports sedan class in his giant killing mk1 ford escort with a time of 40.3210 secs. Late model type 3 over 2.0 litre went to Gary Weiland 5.7 litre commodore with a time of 41.5530 secs. Type 2 under 2.0 litre went to Stephen Lynch in his quick little Mazda MX5 on 41.7290 secs. Clubman cars, road tyres, went to Peter Watson driving his little Amaroo clubman with a time of 43.9670 secs, And 10 outright, which is a brilliant effort for an 83 year old driver. Special vehicles over 2.0 litre 4WD went to Terry Eccleston, Subaru Forrester 44.8630 secs. Type 1 over 2.0 litre went to new member Dean Platt in his V8 Falcon on a very respectable time of 45.9510 secs. Type 3 early model went to Geoff Shepherd in his immaculate EH Holden on 46.8170 secs, while the fastest lady on the day was Nicole Thomas in her V6 Commodore on 47.4410 secs. 05.01.2022 Congratulations Jackson Halloran on your great drive at Morgan park at the weekend, first in the over 2000cc sports sedan class and 3rd outright, also another great effort from Glen Mason in his Nissan Turbo, who won the improved production class and 19th outright. 20th outright was myself in our Westfield clubman and second in the sports car 1501cc to 2000cc class. 21 outright was Wayne Toomey in that bloody quick little mk1 Ford Escort, coming 2nd in the up to 2000cc sports sedan class, 53rd outright and just off the podium in his class was Mick Doyle in his V6 Holden Gemini. And Mathew Carey from the Armidale crew having his first run in a Holden Gemini at a sprint event, finished 66 outright and declared he’ll be back again. This is another Covid restricted event so regional restrictions will be enforced and it will be a closed gate event with no spectators and no canteen so get yourselves sorted early and hope to see you there
