22.01.2022 Lovely weather in Melbourne this morning, doing the rounds of suppliers, bringing back some cool stock and some new tooling to make my life easier in the workshop.

14.01.2022 Here's something special for a young, up and coming flautist. Her parents have invested in a high quality instrument that will see her right through Middle and High School and beyond. The Pearl 665RBE is an intermediate open hole flute (it comes with plugs so that the student can transition from closed to open holes in their own time). A sterling silver headjoint makes for a really sweet tone. Stepping up from a budget flute, this one is going to blow her away!

13.01.2022 Another really sweet horn out the door today. This Yanagisawa SWO1 Soprano saxophone is a pretty serious upgrade for a local gigging saxophonist.

12.01.2022 I have to say, im pretty excited right now. Unfortunately I missed the delivery, so I'm going to have to make a trip tomorrow to collect YANAGISAWA saxophones - Now available from Territory Musical Instrument Services! (well... available tomorrow, after I visit the courier... let's not split hairs or anything...)

12.01.2022 Ok, so it might have been a while... something to do with being busy. This weekend for example: 1x Tenor Sax in for a quick check over and adjustment, 1x trombone slide with a significant dent slowing things up. 1x trumpet with a finger hook to resolder and another trumpet with a jamming 2nd valve (looks like the valve casing has been damaged). All that said, if there is anything you need for the start of the new year, let me know and I'll make arrangements. I'm placing order...s with suppliers on a regular basis these days just to try and keep up with demand. Reeds, mouthpieces, lubricants, ligatures are just some examples. I still have a couple of back to school specials on brand new instruments in stock right now: 1x Pearl P500 student flute at $749 1x ZO trumpet (abs) in Empire Black (someone cue Darth Vader's March...) at $230 with a free bottle of monster valve oil. Get in quick!

10.01.2022 Another productive day on the tools. This one leaked like a sieve when I got it. A couple of new pads and a whole heap of adjustments and it'll sing when I'm done with it!

09.01.2022 Next up on the bench... This Selmer (Paris) clarinet has been sitting in a cupboard for quite a few years I'd say. One of my long term customers brought it in for an overhaul. Some significant cleaning, oiling, polishing of keys and a full set of pads. Stay tuned for pics of the finished product.

05.01.2022 New flute mandrel I turned up on the lathe this afternoon. Makes checking and straightening flute bodies a breeze, and is also useful come reassembly time.

05.01.2022 And now for something completely different... an Oehler system (German) Clarinet. Full strip down, hand polish all keys, oil the bore and outer body, rectify the lower tenon fit and reassemble fixing up the sloppy keywork. Took some effort, but the smile on the clients face when she got it back made it totally worthwhile!
