23.01.2022 WELCOME TO GAR SURVIVAL QLD 7th - 8th March NSW 14th - 15th VIC 21st - 22nd March... This year weve planned 3 short weekend rides back to back across 3 states of Australia, designed to get you GAR READY! This training is essential to your success in reaching Steep Point, Cape York and Mt Dare. You will cover as much off road as possible including sand with small amounts of on road liaison sections. We will also talk about equipment, setup and preparation for the: ALL Women Simpson Crossing 2nd May 2020. CAPEGAR 6th June 2020. The 10th FINAL EDITION GAR ADVENTUREMAX 4th August 2020. Riders who are planning on crossing the Simpson Desert via the QAA/French Line - We will be focusing on sand riding technique, correct tires and pressures, bike setup and fitness. 22.01.2022 This year has been by far the most challenging year to organise motorcycles tours. Thankful to be going back into the Simpson again very soon with the Womens team. The girls have been working hard to raise funds for Dollys Dream, raising $8,742.61 so far. 22.01.2022 Ok...a few have been asking where this years GAR has been through. Beacause of the Covid border business and that we have a couple of NSW fellas with us were had to alter the route and have a alternative end game. To be honest, border control has been good with us and even helped and advised us of what was happening in the next state and how best for us to get a good ride in. Most towns that we have stayed at have been very appreciative of us staying and spending a dollar wi...th them. Today we leave Winton, after a very proactive day cleaning and preparing for the next 9 days. We are set to claim CAPE YORK. Steep Point is out and its a big blow! We are a team and stand together in this decision, its awesome to see the lads commit to ride north. The Simpson was in excellent condition after massive rains a few days before hand. Almost had the desert to ourselves. A highlight was camping north on Eyre Creek between the creek and dune...million miles away from TV, Covid dramas and internet. We were free men for them 3 days! The guys and bikes did well, we had a young German fella, Alex who tagged along. Alway good to see young blokes get out there and chasing adventure. Irish Donal unfortunately stacked his DR and fractured his collar bone, but he is doing well and getting xray and medical attention today. So far weve passed through, Byron, tenterfield, texas, yetman, mundingi, Nindigully, bollon, Cunnamulla, eulo, thargo, bulloo downs, eromonga, Windorah, Birdsville, Poeppel corner, Eyre creek, Bedoruie, Diamantina national park and winton. The quest continues.... Happy travels
21.01.2022 WE ARE STILL GOING! So many business have gone under or postponed their rides to next year! The borders closures have caused a huge amount of problems for everyone. Victorians are completely locked down, poor buggers! NSW is in the mix of an outbreak.... And YES, the Western Australian border to currently closed, we will assess the border closures as we get to them. THERE IS STILL A CHANCE TO REACH STEEP POINT.... GAR ADVENTUREMAX is in a position as it stands today to be able to complete 2 stages of the ride. Including the SIMPSON DESERT. If crossing the Simpson is on your bucket list and you are confident rider we have room for a few late entries. Maybe youd like to Ride Stage 1 from Byron to Birdsville with a great crew EAST TO WEST STAGES Stage 1 - Byron to Birdsville - 2nd August - 7th August - 6 day Stage 2 - Birdsville to Alice Springs - 8th August - 12th August - 5 day. 2 Rest Days in Alice Springs Possible to ride from Alice Springs out to Uluru. 20.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS SUCKS! Weve enter a new world of self isolation, with restrictions unlike we have never seen before set by the Australian Government. In particular, all the adventurous free spirited people, this will be difficult to deal with. We all love riding bikes and exploring the great outdoors. But for now we have to do our bit and keep Australians safe. ... Australia lets knuckle down now to ensure our freedom for tomorrow. Happy travels are ahead. 16.01.2022 BLOODY FANTASTIC NEWS!!! Queenslanders will also be allowed to travel anywhere in the state from Monday, giving the tourism industry a much-needed restart. Our states outstanding response to the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed restrictions to be lifted ahead of a planned move to Stage Two originally scheduled for June 12, Annastacia Palaszczuk.... Queenslanders will be able to undertake unlimited travel, including overnight stays throughout the entire state. Keep tuned - GAR will be releasing a new ride very very soon!

10.01.2022 GAR Survival series completed. This weekend concludes after a safe double crossing of the Little Desert. Shes little but dam difficult to cross. Through good training, support and advice our riders obtain the technique and abilities to cross. I think GAR is the only one that offers the opportunity to cross crazy little desert. If its hard and requires disciplined work...GAR will do it and flourish. ... We dont charge the earth and take pride in seeing riders build a frame of reference, grow and conquer. Glad to say weve had a good GAR Survival Series even though the Coronavirus has been knocking at the door. Our riders are prepared for the upcoming Adventuremax in August. Id like to thank all participants, support and followers. Its never easy....but we always deliver and forge forward. Thank you, we hope to see you the tracks soon. Happy travels.

04.01.2022 Its with regret that under the current circumstances we are looking to postpone the All Womens Simpson Desert Crossing to later this year. And to cancel CAPEGAR 2020. Please hang in there....things are tough out there at the moment for everyone. But it will past and life will eventually return to normal. Never in the history of this country has our freedom been so restricted...but its all for a great cause and we all have a vital role to play to protect the country we all love, our friends, family and greater community.
