21.01.2022 ***POSITION VACANT - Medical Receptionist*** Tasman Medical Practice We are seeking a motivated and experienced medical receptionist to join our team at our General Practice at Nubeena. ... The role requires a professional, engaging and friendly personality with great communication skills and a strong focus on customer service. The position also involves a close liaison and interaction with doctors to ensure the practice operates in a smooth and effective manner. A high level of computer literacy is essential. The software we use is Medical Director and Pracsoft, therefore experience in those applications would be an advantage. A basic understanding of MS applications would also be beneficial. The role also requires excellent time management skills and high personal presentation. A superior level of confidentiality in all matters relating to the Practice is absolutely essential and the successful applicant will be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement. The position is permanent part-time and is for three days per week. Some flexibility in working hours will be necessary and there will be a need to work autonomously from time to time. 21.01.2022 Update. The bridge at Dunalley is now operating normally. Motorists are advised that the canal bridge at Dunalley is locked open, and access to and from the Tasman Peninsula via the road is currently unavailable.... Technicians are at the scene working to repair the fault. Road users are asked to avoid the area if possible, as traffic delays are expected.

08.01.2022 BREAKING THE Tasman Medical Practice has been given a new lifeline, with an agreement being reached for Dr John Saul and his management group to take over the practice from next month. Currently operated by Huon Regional Care, the agreement is for three years. HRC Chief Operating Officer Brenton West said Dr Saul was an experienced doctor with considerable involvement at rural practices, including five years participation at the Tasman Medical Practice between 2009 2014.... ``We are all delighted that Dr Saul will be returning to the Tasman community to operate the medical practice,’’ Mr West said. ``He is passionate about rural medicine, brings a wealth of experience to the practice and a commitment to providing an excellent and enhanced health care model. ``We are equally pleased to announce that Dr Saul will be retaining the services of Dr Amanda Felmingham and Dr Craig Brown.’’ For the full story get your copy of next month’s Tasman Gazette out on July 1.

04.01.2022 Tasmania Police remain on the scene of a serious multiple vehicle crash on the Arthur Highway at Forcett between Torenius Timber and Sugarloaf Road. Major traffic delays are anticipated in the area until around midday. Motorists are asked to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.

02.01.2022 BREAKING: Port Arthur Historic Site to reopen! After 105 days of closure, the Historic Site will reopen to the public from Friday, July 3. The site will offer free entry for all children and a ‘Ticket of Leave’ for every ticketed person which will allow free re-entry to all PAHSMA sites for two years.
