25.01.2022 On Saturday I retrieved this 5ft Monitor mill that was on one of our neighbour's properties. The mill was out of sight 2 kilometres from the road. The tower was just what I wanted to mount a restored Monitor windmill on.

23.01.2022 This is the Stover Windmill that I posted the tower on the 7 July 2018. There is a similar mill in the Green Field Village Ford Museum in the U.S.A. As we were not able to access any information for the vane & shut off gear this is my version of how I think it would be.I have down sized the mill so as to fit it into The Windmill Shed.

22.01.2022 Kevin Sawyer took this photo from his veranda this evening looking east. The windmill is an open geared 5ft Monitor

20.01.2022 Jim & Betty would like to thank all the windmill enthusiasts who have visited our two windmill sheds this year.We wish all supporters of The Windmill Shed A Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year. The photo posted was sent to us from our friend Nick the roadtrain driver. We don't know where this shot was taken but it is a great photo. We believe it is of an entrance to a station

18.01.2022 A few weeks ago a friend of ours, a windmill enthusiast from Toowoomba Queensland, gave us a challenge. Dudley gave me the name & phone number of a Station with a decommissioned 30 ft Comet windmill. The mill had already had the blades removed because they were starting to break up due to a broken hub. On contacting the owner, Michael of Blend Tyre station QLD & discussing the Comet mill Michael very generously offered the mill to the Windmill Shed. It was up to us to have it dismantled & packed up ready for transport .Our good friend Neville who trucks east west & in the past had brought windmills across the Nullarbor stepped in again. The mill is now at the Windmill Shed ready for restoration.

16.01.2022 This 14ft Alston windmill was designed to drive a Mono helical rotary bore pump It used bevel gears & two cogs to speed up the drive shaft. We have set the gear box down low so that people can see the workings. The mill was built in the late 1960s.

15.01.2022 The Windmill Shed has had over 200 visitors in the last month. This includes the A Model Ford Car Club, a bus load from Victoria & a wild flower tour bus, as well as many smaller groups.

09.01.2022 Thank you for the birthday good wishes from all my friends. Jim

09.01.2022 I have had the engine of this 22 ft Comet mill with out a turntable & tower for 6 years. I have spent two weeks building a half wind wheel at ground level to show the size of it when up close.

09.01.2022 This morning a group of 15 from the Midwest Chapter of W.A. Museums visited The Windmill Shed. They had been at the Wubin Museum yesterday for a meeting. We had a most enjoyable morning. Many thanks to Joy Wornes for supplying the morning tea.

02.01.2022 In January this year we sent a crate of unrestored windmills to a friend in Chesterville Canada. Peter is a farmer & a windmill enthusiast Yesterday a friend from Bullsbrook collected the returned crate from customs. I spent today sorting & matching the five different mills in the crate They were extremely well presented. Thank you Peter.
