22.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE - Friday 26TH JUNE, 2020 A Call to Prayer Day 96 of 100. Psalm. 52 Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God? You who practice deceit, your tongue plots destruction;it is like a sharpened razor. You love evilrather than good, falsehood rather than speaking the truth.... Sometimes we think that evil and evil men triumph. But the Psalmist knows different. At the end of the day all will have to answer to God. That should be a real comfort to the Christian. God’s ways seem oft to us full of contradictions, because his course is to bring things to pass by contrary means..when we are in heaven, it will be one part of our happiness to see the harmony of those things that now seem confused to us. The low number of deaths is because Russia does not list everyone who has Covid as dying of Covid. The World Health Organisation (W.H.O) accepts this as an acceptable way of recording deaths. 2. Victoria now has had 1,917 cases (up 151 from a week ago) with 20 deaths (up 1). In Australia there have been 7,558 (up 37). 33 of these are in Victoria where community transmission seems to be growing. There have been 104 deaths (up 1). 6,942 people have recovered (up 18). 16 are in hospital (2 in ICU). 2,232,341 have been tested with 0.3% being positive. 3. The church in China which is facing continued pressure and persecution. 4. The W.H.O have warned that a Coronvirus vaccine may never be found. 22.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE- Monday 22ND JUNE, 2020 Psalm 48 9-10 Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness. God’s temple in the New Testament is his people. It’s good for us to be together with the Lord’s people and to meditate on his unfailing love. We are there to praise God, not ourselves. We exult in his righteousness, not our own.... Armenia The number of confirmed cases is 20,268 with 350 deaths of those with Covid. Like most nations with a significant number of Covid cases, Armenia is now easing its lockdown. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was announced as having Covid on June 1st 2. New South Wales now has had 3, 149 cases (up 30 from a week ago) with 48 deaths (up 0). All new cases are from quarantined travelers. In Australia there have been 7,461 (up 25). 19 of these are in Victoria. Beijing is to set up a new ‘security office’ in Hong Kong as its takeover of the province continues. 4. A global breakthrough on a new antiviral drug that scientists believe could block the coronavirus has been made in Australia. Monash University researchers have conducted extensive modelling of a new antiviral drug to show it has significant blocking ability against the virus that causes COVID-19. 5. 18.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE - Thursday 25TH JUNE, 2020 A Call to Prayer Day 95 of 100. Psalm 51 10-13... Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. This is a great song of repentance and renewal. Use it for yourself. What can mere mortals do to me? It has been my privilege to do these prayer notes for the past 100 days. We are now stopping the daily notes but will be moving to a weekly one and I hope that those of you who use these notes will continue to use the new ones. There is never a time when Christians do not need to pra...y. And the great thing is that we pray to a God we can trustwho never fails us. Why should we be afraid? Man may fail us and yet be a good man, but God cannot fail us and be God, because he is truth itself Shall God be so true to us and shall we not be true to him and his truth? South America, America and India are the main areas of growth just now. 2. Last night I had a special look into how the Good News of Christ rings healing and restoration to the nations. Christianity is communal. It’s not just for individuals but for the nations. Christianity is multi-ethnic. It is for all the nations. A call to praise, to repentance, to faith and to joy. ... Israel has seen an increase in cases since lifting restrictions largely amongst the Arab population. It is seeking quarantine free travel with Australia by December. 2. South Australia now has had 440 cases (up 0 from a week ago) with 4 deaths (up 0). In Australia there have been 7,436 (up 26). 25 of these are in Victoria which is now not going ahead with easing restrictions. There have been 102 deaths (up 0). 6,888 people have recovered (up 8). 16 are in hospital (2 in ICU). 2,005,378 have been tested with 0.4% being positive. 3. There has been an alleged terror attack in the UK with several people stabbed in Reading at least three are dead. 4. Israeli scientists have developed a Covid 19 breathalyser which detects Covid 19 in one minute and is claimed to be 90% successful. It could be installed at airports and other public places. 5. 12.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE - Saturday 20TH JUNE, 2020 Psalm 46:1-7 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-presenthelp in trouble.2 Therefore we will not fear,though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quakewith their surging.4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. 6 Nati...ons are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. 7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Sometimes we feel as though the world has never been in such chaos. But this Psalm reminds us that it has ever been thus! The nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall and it seems as though darkness rules. But God is our refuge and strength. He makes wars to cease. He is God. Our Rock. There is concern in Italy and Germany where the number of cases appears to be on the rise. China says the outbreak in Beijing has been contained. 4. Russia has introduced a new drug to help with curing Covid 19. It is not a vaccine. 5. 10.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE -MONDAY 29TH JUNE. Day 99 of 100 Psalm 55 6 I said, Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. 7 I would flee far away and stay in the desert; 8 I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm. Do you ever feel like you just want to fly away and escape? ‘Getting away from it all’ is not just a modern phenomenon. Sometimes the Lord does take us away and lead us beside the still waters. For most of us we need to ta...ke time away from the hustle and bustle and spend time with the Lord. This is the privilege of prayer. If we could sin more than he could pardon, then we might have some reason to despair. Despair is a high point of atheism; it takes away both God and Christ at once. Over 500,000 have died with Covid 19. 4. A new mouth test for Covid 19 is being rolled out in Melbourne today. It is hoped that this will help encourage more people in quarantine to take the test. 5. 07.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE - Tuesday 23RD JUNE, 2020 Psalm 49 Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who live in this world, both low and high, rich and poor alike: My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation of my heart will give you understanding. I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle: Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches? No one can redeem the ...life of another or give to God a ransom for them the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough so that they should live on forever and not see decay. One fact that is true of us all. We all die. And no one can buy eternal life. But Christianity has such good news the Son of God is our ransom. He is the one who has bought his church with his own blood and given us eternal life. What is all that the earth can afford us, if God deny health? And this a man in the poorest condition may enjoy. Concern is expressed that there is a heat wave in the Arctic. 4. Thai scientists are one of 100 groups that are seeking to develop a vaccine. 06.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE - Saturday 27TH JUNE, 2020 A Call to Prayer Day 97 Psalm 53 The fool says in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good. 2 God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. 3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. 4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?... Psalm 53 is a repeat of Psalm 14. When something is repeated it is important! Today humanity in its foolishness thinks that we can do fine without God. We are discovering that that is not true. All our misery is in having a false foundation, or else in loose building upon a true . 05.01.2022 PRAYER GUIDE - Wednesday 24TH JUNE, 2020 Psalm 50:1-3 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets. From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.... Christians have different views about the second coming (of course mine is the correct one but I’m not telling you!), but we all agree on this. Jesus is coming again and there will be a day of judgement a day when all wrongs will be put right. I wonder how much we are like the early church who frequently prayed ‘Maranatha’ even so come soon Lord Jesus! Saudi Arabia has announced that pilgrimage to Mecca this year is to be severely restricted. 4. Dr Anthony Fauci, the US infectious diseases expert, says that he believes it is likely a Covid 19 vaccine will be ready by the end of the year. Pray he is right. 5. It is interesting how times in the Psalms we see David under attack especially verbally. Rather than just lash out in self-defence he calls upon God. A lesson for us to learn. ... The more men rely upon deceitful crutches, the greater is their fall.God alone must be the object of our trust. The US is seeing a significant increase in 20 states. Pray that there would be good governance, calm and healing. 4. More than 1,000 trials are being held worldwide for drugs to help combat Covid 19. 5. Many churches today will restart having services in their buildings.
