24.01.2022 PLEASE LOCK THIS IN YOUR DIARY -APRIL QUILL CLUB LUNCH Date :Friday 13th @ 12.pm for 12.30 start Location: Coopers Inn, 282 Exhibition Street... Cost: $80 PP CPD points 1 We are very pleased to announce our speaker for April Lunch will be Mervyn Rea from Zurich - " Building Products - Be Aware". Very topical issue at the moment. Merv has a long history in the Insurance industry and for the last 20 years has been involved in various risk engineering and managerial roles. Guests and new potential Members most welcome. If you are not a member and wish to come please send me your contact details. Otherwise all members please rsvp asap to Ari Ganas.

21.01.2022 We would like to thank all members and guests who attended our fabulous lunch on Friday 13th. Our speaker for the day was Merv Rea from Zurich on the subject of Building Controls, who can you trust? This was the first time I had seen Merv speak and he certainly did not let us down -funny, entertaining and most of all very informative. Merv certainly has a lot of great information to share. With the perils of EPS and Asbestos products being installed in so many domestic and co...mmercial buildings, we all come away with a lot more knowledge on the subject. A lot of great questions and interaction from the guests, made it a winning lunch. Our speakers this year have been sensational, and to keep up with this tradition our next speaker will be Colin Chinner from MSM loss management. This will be held on the 11 May so please pencil this in to your diaries. Invites will be out soon. See more

21.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the lack of RSVP numbers, weve decided to cancel Friday March 3rd Quill Club lunch. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

18.01.2022 We are very excited in the lead up to our annual charity day. This year we are supporting a very worthwhile cause - Yellow Ladybugs. Tomorrow you will hear more about their story and what they are doing to assist girls and women who have Autism. Please take a moment to have a look at their website https://www.yellowladybugs.com.au/ to find out more about what they do. A lot of work and preparation has taken place behind the scenes in order to create an enjoyable day of getti...ng to know more about our charity; some great food and wine; networking and fun. But the most important part of the day is raising the funds. We have some awesome live and silent auction items and prizes for which we have many awesome and generous people to thank. If you are one of the lucky people who managed to score a table, we look forward to seeing you and hope you come with a generous spirit and an open wallet. BTW: Did you know - research shows that donating to charities has a positive impact on your physical and mental health? Good enough reason id say :) Lets make this our best charity day to date.. Guests, look for the people with the Yellow Ladybug tshirts on if you need assistance during the day. Most of all lets have a great day. See you tomorrow.

08.01.2022 Two years ago, The Quill Club raised much needed funds for SMA Australia at its annual luncheon. Those funds went towards delivering much needed cough assist machines to families within Australia, helping their child with SMA. Today it was with great pleasure to see SMA Australia achieve another major milestone, seeing critical medication Spinraza receive PBS approval by the Federal Government. The Spinraza drug is the first to specifically address the genetic disease Spinal... Muscular Atrophy. The drug will assist toward restoring lost strength in children with SMA. It was with such honor and pride that the Quill Club and wider Insurance Industry supported this group at our annual luncheon. Well done to Julie Cini and SMA Australia on achieving this amazing milestone! You have changed the future of all children with SMA within Australia.

08.01.2022 Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the 14th Quill Club Annual Wine Weekend in Heathcote. The weekend started with a great meal and a few beverages at the Union Hotel on the Friday evening. An enjoyable evening reconnecting with other members and their partners, some of which we have not seen since last year. I think the pub probably raises their biggest raffle takings as we throw a lot of money in the mix to once again to see who can take home the meat raffle. Our ...first stop on Saturday was the Whistling Eagle Winery where we sampled some fabulous wines while Wine Maker Ian Rathgen entertained us with his vast knowledge of wine making. A very enjoyable lunch and more wine tasting was hosted at the Silver Spoon Estate where the lovely Tracie talked about the inception and history of the winery; how Peters Geology background helped lay the plans for the wineries planting and positioning; respect of the Aboriginal sacred sites and the Silver Spoon fault line that the winery was named after. Some very nice wines with some very cheeky names. Our third stop was Vinea Marson Winery. Taking tradition from four generations in Italy and Australia, another lovely family winery with a very Italian style of wines. Owner and wine Maker Mario provided a great wine tasting session along with some background on the wine and some lovely cheese and nibbles. (I think we were all ready to bust at this stage). We followed with an unexpected drop in on Condie Estate where Richie Condie was wonderful enough to provide some tastings and a few words about his wines on the hop. I think he did well from the amount of wine that was purchased. We finished the day off with a lovely dinner and some more fabulous wines at Noble Red. The weekend ended with Ron hosting a fabulous bbq breaky on Sunday at his house before taking our gluttonous selves home to detox before work on Monday. I would on behalf of the Quill Club committee and attendees like to say a massive thank you to Ron who does such an amazing job year after year putting this weekend together. A big thanks also to Bob the bus driver for putting up with us, the wineries and pub that hosted us and the various motels that accommodated us.
