24.01.2022 Need assistance?

20.01.2022 Big thanks to whoever pulled all the weeds out for us last weekend at The Salvos! This gesture has meant a lot to us during this busy time. Thanks again and God Bless you :)

13.01.2022 Every year at Christmas we help hundreds of families with toy and food hampers for those doing it tough. If you would like to join with us to bring hope in our community- why not do a Reverse Advent Calendar in November. You can send us a message for more information or start collecting and have a generous start to your Christmas.

12.01.2022 We have Baby Formula to give away! The Salvation Army Portland has several tins of stage 1 and 2 baby formula that needs to be used by October. If you or someone you know would like a couple of tins, please give us a call on 55233749 or send us a message to reserve them - No strings attached ... Only available until we run out, so get in quick! Limit of 2 tins per person, available to Glenelg Shire residents.

12.01.2022 This Sunday The Salvation Army in Australia is being called to pray. This is just the kick off for a further 21 days of prayer that will begin on Pentecost Sunday (31st May).

12.01.2022 Great news for the Glenelg Shire - Please contact us on 03 5523 3749 if you are in need of support

11.01.2022 We all know Christmas isn’t far away when the Toy Run comes around! If you would like to participate give Dave a call on the number listed. If you would like to donate a gift you can drop it in at the fabulous Squiddlydids or The Salvation Army (33 Henty st) during opening hours.

11.01.2022 Thank you to everyone for your support and donations. This years Red Shield Appeal finishes on the 30th of June. There is still time if you would still like to make a donation to support the work of The Salvation Army Portland. Please click the link below to see a message of thanks from Peter Stamp

08.01.2022 Some of the reverse advent calendars our community have been working on have arrived! How is yours going? When you bring it (or any toy donations) in to 33 Henty St in the next couple of weeks make sure to speak to the ladies at reception. They will say a big thank you and give you a certificate!

07.01.2022 Fantastic work once again by PDH and our community!

04.01.2022 With the current reality of Covid-19 it’s easy to forget that so many Australians were devastated by bushfires less than a year ago. The impact is still real and The Salvos have not ceased assisting people in their long term recovery. Thanks for your generous support to those in need.

03.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all the special women in our lives. We hope you have a blessed day!

02.01.2022 Many thanks to the team at PDH for once again partnering with us to brings gifts to families throughout the Glenelg shire!

02.01.2022 This year the way we are doing Red Shield Appeal has had to change. We won’t be at an intersection, knocking on your door or sitting outside of Woolies. Instead we are knocking online asking for donations and for people and businesses who want to partner with us by becoming a digital door knocker. Because what hasn’t changed is our mission.... Did you know that last Christmas we gave out over 150 Christmas handlers and over 400 gifts to families doing it tough. This is likely to increase this year because of the implications of Covid19. Did you know that we are training up a team for our emergency services trailer to be able provide meals and support to emergency services personal responding in times of disaster? Did you know that we are working on a regional support vehicle to be able to deliver our essential services to towns like Casterton, Nelson and Heywood? Did you know that not only are we still open and providing our services, but we have extended our hours from 9:30-4 Monday to Friday so that we are available to help more people? We know it’s a tough time for many but if you can spare some change to give some hope simply follow the link and donate. If you’d like to help further by becoming a digital door knocker follow the link and click join our team then start sharing your page on Facebook and any other social media you might be on. It’s not hard but it makes a huge difference! Thanks Portland- we can’t do what we do without the continuing support of our local businesses, groups and people!
