05.01.2022 We finally got around to filling out our own books this year. So while it's fresh in my mind here are a few tips to filling out your book.. - gather all of your photos, certificates, artwork - get your pen, photo tape and scissors at the ready (you might want to write in pencil first before committing to the pen) - look through the page you will be filling out, have a think about and a conversation about events that may have happened earlier on in the year. (Every year withou...t fail my kids rush in, start filling it out, only remembering what they did in the last week of school, not the whole year) - get into some detail with your answers: write down last names of your friends, list out what you "played" at lunch, or how many times a week you danced... you aren't going to remember these details when you are 40. - make sure the kids are in a good mood and have been fed before you start. I'll admit, my kids aren't huge fans of this process, and I really have to time it right (but they do like looking through previous years pages) - it doesn't have to be perfect. I let the kids write in their own answers, it's not the neatest (yet) but I like to see how their writing progresses and they have ownership over their book. - and have fun, enjoy reflecting on the year that was and looking through your completed pages and marvelling at how that little face has grown over the years.
