18.01.2022 Congratulations to our Swords Club fencers who competed in the NSW Open Foils Club Team Championship on Sunday. Our Open Men’s Foil Men’s Team (Vince, Jonah & Kaya) won silver whilst our Women’s Open Foil Team (Anna, Claire & Suzanne) won bronze. With 5 of the 6 fencers coached by Al Wardle, our fencers felt the wins were a fitting tribute.

07.01.2022 What a weekend! They say it takes a village to raise a child and there was certainly an entire community on hand to support and guide some of our youngest fencers in the NSWFA U12 Club Foil Team Championships. Our TSC fencers fought with grit, determination and joyfulness to produce some very close scoring bouts. TSC Gold Team - Arthur, Billy, Kevin & Yannis and TSC Black Team - Alex, Daniel, Markus & Victoria both taking home a bronze medal. Out thanks to coaches Sami & Claire and team managers for the day Edman and Connor, and a big thank you to our enthusiastic parent supporters. Thanks also to Jonah also for backing up to ref.

04.01.2022 Images from the 69th Nils Saksen Mixed Handicap Foil Competition, Saturday 12 December 2020. After 8 hours the final poule of 6 Claire, Derrick, George, Jason, Jonah and Kaya.

01.01.2022 The Nils Saksen Mixed Handicap Foil Competition marks the end of the fencing year for members of The Swords Club. Now in its 69th year, this all-ages competition, sees fencers vie for the coveted Nils Saksen Trophy, whose list of past winners reads like a "Who’s Who" of Australian fencers. It is also an opportunity to gather our community together, to enjoy each other’s company, to celebrate the successes, to thank those who supported us and remember those we lost. 2020 saw... 40 fencers take to the piste over a period of 8 hours. It was a strong field who battled it out in the final two rounds. Congratulations to Jonah Newton for a back-to-back win of the 69th Nils Saksen Mixed Handicap Foil Competition. A special mention to Kaya who held his own against some fierce competition to come 2nd. A special thanks to our Committee and team of volunteers who came together to make the day the success it was. Thank you also for JG Fencing for their ongoing support of The Swords Club and sponsorship of the competition. Further photos to follow.
