20.01.2022 COVID Safety Plans are an important part of ensuring that re-opening businesses does not increase the risk of spreading COVID-19. Businesses will need to explai...n how they will meet conditions and implement the advice set out in these guidelines. A COVID Safety Plan must be completed prior to re-opening. You can download the plans at https://www.wa.gov.au//covid-19-coronavirus-business-and-i. If your business has multiple premises you must prepare a COVID Safety Plan for each premises. 19.01.2022 Restaurants, cafes and shops have been given the green light to reopen and local and regional travel is on the cards under the first step of National Cabinet's ...plan to ease coronavirus restrictions. The Federal Government says it will be up to the states and territories to decide when the changes come into effect. Premier Mark McGowan says he will announce what this means for WA on Sunday. Under the first stage of the national three-step plan, people will be allowed to have up to five visitors in their home and be in groups of 10 outdoors. "Today, National Cabinet agreed a three-step plan and a national framework to achieve a COVID-safe economy and society," Prime Minister Scott Morrison said. "It is our goal to move through all of these steps to achieve that COVID-safe economy in July of this year." Mr Morrison said the process would be gradual and people should expect more outbreaks along the way. "In this plan, we walk before we run," he said. "We know we need to be careful to preserve our gains, if we wish to reclaim the ground we lost, we cannot be too timid." Step two will see groups of 20 allowed in places like gyms, beauty therapists, cinemas and galleries. Step three, the final step, will see people return to workplaces and gatherings of up to 100 people allowed and pubs to reopen.

10.01.2022 We know that many businesses in the Agricultural Region are feeling the impact of the COVID19 pandemic due to the necessary measures that have been implemented to protect the health of our community. The McGowan Government is doing all it can to support regional businesses in this time of hardship and many local businesses have been creative and adapted the way they now operate. Despite this however, it is devastating to know that some businesses have had to close their door...s. We are aware there are lots of questions about these changes and also about what support the Government has in place to help our local economy recover. To help with this, we invite you to join us with special guest, the Hon Alannah MacTiernan, Minister for Regional Development, to a virtual Small Business meeting on Monday 25 May from 4.30pm 5.15pm. This will be a free Webinar through Zoom which means you will need to download the Zoom app to your device or computer to participate. To register, please contact our office on 9621 1999 or by email to [email protected]. Further details of how to participate will be sent to you once you have registered to attend. Your questions to the Minister are needed in advance, so that we can answer as many as possible. Please email them by COB on Wednesday 20 May. We look forward to you joining us on the day. Laurie Graham MLC and Darren West MLC Members for the Agricultural Region 185 Fitzgerald Street, Northam PO Box 446, Northam WA 6401 Ph: 9621 1999
