21.01.2022 Bulbophyllum aureum (yellow) Very nice yellow form flowering in North Queensland. It should present a spectacular orchid display when it sends up many, many umbels.

14.01.2022 Bowen Orchid and Foliage Society cancellation of Spring Show Good evening everyone The difficult decision has finally been made to cancel our annual spring show for 2020.... We are in the same situation as all of the other clubs and societies in Australia due to COVID19 regulations and the concern for our members and members of the general public has prompted us to make this decision. It is very disappointing for our members as there were some really beautiful blooms and foliage on display at our meeting on Tuesday night and our members were also keen to sell plants at the show this is an extremely popular event in Bowen each year and introduces the townsfolk to our club and encourages new growers. Look forward to holding this again next year God willing.

13.01.2022 It seems like only a couple of weeks ago that I was posting photographs of Bulbophyllum medusae plants flowering here in Townsville. Well, some have sent out another flush.

13.01.2022 If you have a spare 1 square metre in the orchid house, then Bulbophyllum carunculatum could fill that space. It is a progressive flowerer that has flowers for much of the year here in Townsville.

13.01.2022 Well, I did think that the Bulbophyllum echinolabium flower was attractive.

12.01.2022 Strange things sometimes happen in the orchid house. Here we are in the middle of summer in Townsville and some Phalaenopsis orchids are in bloom. Go figure.
