24.01.2022 MASKS ON FARMS From 11:59pm on Sunday face masks will become mandatory for all Victorians when out of their homes. Premier Daniel Andrews has this afternoon ...clarified when masks need to be worn for those who live on farms. The premier called for a common-sense approach, and gave a number of situational examples of when a mask is required. Essentially: If youre working alone on your farm and not coming into contact with other people, a mask IS NOT needed. If youre working on your farm with people who live in the same house as you, a mask IS NOT needed. If youre working on your farm alongside people who do not live in the same house as you, a mask IS REQUIRED. If its a family farm and you and members of your household, then common sense tells you that you dont need to wear a mask, Mr Andrews said. But once you go past the front gate and go into town you would (need to wear a mask). If youve got staff or if youve got people coming to your property to make deliveries or to collect livestock for instance or if you have staff coming onto your property logic just says put your mask on because that person is not part of your household. Even though the farm is your home, thats then a workplace. Full details on the Rural Report from 6.15am tomorrow.

14.01.2022 BOIL WATER ALERT - MOE, NEWBOROUGH, YALLOURN NORTH AND SURROUNDING TOWNS (Saturday 15 February 2020) Hi all, ... Weve issued a boil water alert for the townships of Hernes Oak, Moe, Moe South, Newborough, Trafalgar East, Westbury, Yallourn, Yallourn Heights and Yallourn North tonight due to a storm-related event at the Moe water treatment plant. Its recommended that water be brought to a rolling boil before being used for drinking, preparing beverages, washing and preparing food, preparing baby formula, brushing teeth or making ice until further notice. To ensure water is safe for consumption: - Heat water until a continuous and rapid stream of air-bubbles is produced from the bottom of a pan or kettle (kettles with automatic shut-off switches are suitable); - Allow water to cool before use; - Store water in a clean, closed container for later use; and - Caution should be taken to prevent scalding from boiling water. Unboiled water can be used for showering and bathing, flushing toilets, washing dishes and clothes and garden watering. Ensure water is not ingested whilst bathing. Its likely the alert will remain in place for a number of days. Were working to restore a normal water supply as soon as possible. In the meantime, an alternative drinking water point has been established at Apex Park in Moe tonight until 10pm, tomorrow from 7am - 10pm and Monday from 6am - 10pm. Please bring your own containers. Were sorry for the inconvenience and will keep you posted. For more details, please visit www.gippswater.com.au/alerts

11.01.2022 BoM Thunderstorm Forcast for Tuesday. Issued at 10:59 am Monday, 17 February 2020, Valid from midnight tonight until midnight on Tuesday, 18 February 2020. Stor...ms will likely begin to develop mid to late morning Tuesday through the Southwest district and across the north and then extend further to the south and east as the day progresses. The storm risk will eventually contract to the far southeast during the evening but potentially persist across Gippsland overnight. There is also a slight risk of mid-level storms early in the day across western Victoria, including a very slight risk in the northwest, but the predominant focus will be over southeastern areas where storms are most likely. Severe storms are possible across most areas of Victoria, particularly across the central and eastern ranges and in the southeast. Damaging winds, large hail, and/or heavy rainfall are possible with any severe storms. Damaging winds are more likely about the central and eastern ranges, and large hail is more likely across Gippsland in the afternoon.

09.01.2022 A staff member at West Gippsland Healthcare Group has tested positive to Coronavirus. The employee has not been at work since last Saturday, July 4. Chief exec...utive officer Dan Weeks said all visitors and staff at the Warragul hospital site on Landsborough Street would need to wear a mask. We are in the process of identifying staff that may have come into close contact with the employee. Those people will be contacted and required to be tested and to self-isolate until next Sunday and be re-tested prior to return to work. As a precautionary measure, testing is also available and recommended for all other WGHG staff. Latrobe Regional Hospital is sending an experienced testing team to assist and we are very grateful for the support. The healthcare group will limit visitors to the hospital to one per patient per day for one hour only and the visitor must be an immediate family member or a carer. The same rules will apply to the healthcare group run aged care centre, Cooinda Lodge. This comes as Victoria recorded a further 216 Coronavirus cases today. A man in his 90s died overnight. More to come.

07.01.2022 ORGANISERS FINED OVER TRAFALGAR PROTEST Update: Victoria Police say they have fined three organisers of a protest in Trafalgar on Saturday. About 70 people gat...hered at the Trafalgar Railway Station to protest against government coronavirus restrictions. The protest was streamed live on social media. Demonstrators held signs that read End the Lockdown Small Business is Dead and How will we pay this back? One speaker, who goes by the psuedonym Topher Field told the gathering, the stay at home rules are unreasonable. "We now gather in protest against the lockdown which has been forced upon us by our own government. Who would have thought that in our own free country we would have to risk fines in order to gather and honour ANZAC Day?" Inspector Craig Gaffee said there were 60-70 people at the protest. "Police spoke to them, dispersed them and issued some penalty notices to the organisers." Prue Foley from Trafalgar also attended the rally. "A lot of local people around here are losing their businesses and that will essentially mean they end up losing their homes and lifestyles as well." "We need to actually be able to have a conversation about the affects of completely annihilating the economy."
