17.01.2022 OCTOBER BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH THE ALL IMPORTANT VITAMIN C The basics: ... Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can strengthen your body’s natural defenses. Antioxidants are molecules that boost the immune system. ( boosting immune system ticks so many boxes in how to recover from so many illnesses) They do so by protecting cells from harmful molecules called free radicals. Free radicals that that we are constantly exposed to in today’s lifestyle choices. ( Gets easier to minimise exposure when you research it but as general rule, hard task to illuminate from our life’s completely) When free radicals accumulate, they can promote a state known as oxidative stress, which has been linked to many chronic diseases. Studies show that consuming more vitamin C can increase your blood antioxidant levels by up to 30%. This helps the body’s natural defenses fight inflammation. So with that said....What effect does Vit C have on cancer and cancer prevention. It may help reduce cancer risk. Which is what my day to day goal is. A handful of studies have linked vitamin C intake to a lower risk of several cancers. First, vitamin C helps encourage the production of white blood cells known as lymphocytes and phagocytes, which help protect the body against infection. This is why Vit C can go hand in hand with Chemo. Subsequent well-designed, randomized, controlled trials of vitamin C in pill form found no such benefits for people with cancer. Despite the lack of evidence, some alternative medicine practitioners continue to recommend high doses of vitamin C for cancer treatment. More recently, vitamin C given through a vein (intravenously) has been found to have different effects than vitamin C taken in pill form. This has prompted renewed interest in the use of vitamin C as a cancer treatment. So why Lypro-Spheric Vit C & what’s the difference!!!! There's still no evidence that vitamin C alone can cure cancer, but researchers are studying whether it might boost the effectiveness of other cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, or reduce treatment side effects. ie: help immune system cell repair and promote white blood cell production during chemo... Radiation impacts the skin and can harden tissue underneath target radiation area, restrictions in movement. Vitamin c helps repair skin and tissue and works along side traditional treatments The absorption of liposomal vitamin C is significantly higher than that of a standard vitamin C supplement. Benefits of liposomal vitamin C include increased bioavailability, cardiovascular support, skin health, improved collagen production, and reduced oxidative stress throughout the body. My story.... So most will know, about 10 days post surgery I went down hill in a big way, was a few hours...,it amazed me how quickly I went from functioning normally to being flown to Brisbane critical. I had develop a Staph infection around and underneath surgery site. I was later told, I had a one four chance of surviving. Dad came to my rescue! He came armed with boxes and boxes of lypro-Spheric Vit C. He had researched this a lot. I was having 6 sachets a day, if I didn’t get them down, I had him to answer too, and he took this very seriously. Dad would be my first visitor in morning before nurses did rounds and last visitor of the day! And hours in between helped H with boys. So I got better and reasonably quickly. I still take this every day( just one a day now) I still feel like I have a few side effects from the Staph infection and some people I have talked said it took over 5 years to fully recover but I feel I have a head start now. Lypr-Spheric C is like a blob of Orange slime no better way to describe. And throwing down with water is quickest way to down it! Hastings now Has one daily( he’s actually more religious with this than me know) and I give the kids one if I feel They are getting a bit run down.

11.01.2022 OCTOBER BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH The antiperspirant debate....... No one likes to have body odour. But how do we look after our body and not smell like we... just ran a marathon This is a debate worth looking into. There’s lots of information if you search on positives of using natural, paraben free aluminium free deodorants and loads of information to back it...... Estrogen can promote the growth of both cancer and non-cancer breast cells, some scientists have suggested that using the aluminum-based compounds in antiperspirants may be a risk factor for the development of breast cancer. But it isn't clear that much aluminum is absorbed through the skin. Most breast cancers develop in the upper outer quadrant of the breast because that area is closest to the lymph nodes exposed to antiperspirants. Parabens are chemicals used as preservatives and as food additives. They can be found in many types of make-up (like lipstick, mascara, concealer, and foundation) and skin care products (like lotion, shaving products, and sunscreen). Parabens can be absorbed through the skin. Intake of parabens is a possible concern because studies have shown that parabens have weak estrogen-like properties. Estrogen is a female hormone known to cause breast cells (both normal and cancerous) to grow and divide. And some conditions that increase the body's exposure to estrogen (like not having children, late menopause, obesity, etc.) have been linked to an increased risk of breast cancer. Aluminum-based compounds are the active ingredients in antiperspirants. They block the sweat glands to keep sweat from getting to the skin's surface. Some research has suggested that these aluminum compounds may be absorbed by the skin and cause changes in estrogen receptors of breast cells. Because estrogen can promote the growth of both cancer and non-cancer breast cells, some scientists have suggested that using the aluminum-based compounds in antiperspirants may be a risk factor for the development of breast cancer. A lot of oncologist support this (Mine included) and recommend patients to only use natural products, aluminium free, after a cancer diagnosis.... so why let the horse bolt when these health changes can be made sooner. I am your Guinea pig! So over past 18 months I have trialed and tested a many of these natural products, and to be honest I do prefer something that does have a nice scent. Some I have tried have been like glue, terrible on clothing or lip balm consistently which is just as bad and sticky and some seem to do nothing at but cost extra because it says natural or aluminium free on it.... This is the winner!!! Ticks all the boxes and actually has a nice scent, not sticky and works. Winning!!!! I have rose & Pomegranate scented

07.01.2022 OCTOBER BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Over the next month I am going to share some of what I have learnt along the way and personal experiences that may be ab...le to help someone else. To keep in everyone’s minds to really listen to your body, know your body and get check ups. FRANKINCENCE OIL I have known about Frankincense oil and it’s properties for a long time but only since being diagnosed with cancer did I actually take it on board. ( like a lot of things in life, good kick up the ass does wonders ) I take a few drops of Frank under my tongue each morning is now part of daily routine. Taste pretty ordinary for a minute or two but easy to wash down with a bit of water. A little about Frankincense oil....... Frankincense may help fight certain cancers. The boswellic acids it contains help prevent cancer cells from spreading. A review of test-tube studies notes that boswellic acids may also prevent the formation of DNA in cancerous cells, which could help limit cancer growth Frankincense also has anti-inflammatory effects that may help reduce joint inflammation caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid. From what I have learnt about any cancer that its definitely a positive if you can keep inflammation down in your body. This has been a big fight for me, there’s lots that have changed to help with this. Researchers believe that frankincense can prevent the release of leukotrienes, which are compounds that can cause Frankincense’s anti-inflammatory properties to help your gut function properly. This resin appears particularly effective at reducing symptoms of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two inflammatory gut diseases. From what I now know, gut health is the centre of every other health aspect in our bodies. If we can master a healthy gut your half way there. This is something I have to consciously work on every day. Still working on my relationship with chocolate. But that’s a whole other post
