An opening exists for an experienced HC Truck Driver to be part of the Brisbane team, based out at Wacol QLD. You will require a HC truck license, hold a current white construction card and load restraint certificate. Steel experience is essential. ... As a minimum you will be able to demonstrate experience in the Load restraint using chains safely and efficiently; Perform all job tasks in a timely manner, ensuring completion as directed; Ensure that plant and equipment is operated in a safe and professional manner; Understand the importance of meeting deliveries and interacting with customers Experience with load restraint and log book keeping as required trucks; Experienced with Extendable trailers; Work with limited supervision within the team; and General maintenance, housekeeping and Ad hoc duties as required. The successful applicant will have the following experience and skills: HC truck license with minimum of 5 years plus driving experience Experience with long extendable loads Excellent time management skills and sense of urgency Impeccable customer service Able to work autonomously and with minimal supervision Experience in the Steel industry or similar advantageous Good knowledge of Brisbane and surrounding area. C...onsider this you own your onw fleet of vehicles, each vehicle costs you an average $50,000 to buy then you have to employ a driver that costs you a weekly wage (wage + super) you then have to Maintain the truck Register it Fuel it Service it Repair it This could be a lot of money per year per vehicle. It costs the average business $120 to $250 per hour per vehicle to run and maintain. A smart business would use outside carriers to do their deliveries, and save themselves on average $30 to $100 per hour using an outside carrier and that's extra money in their pocket .
