25.01.2022 Just hang in there

25.01.2022 "The twisted tree lives its life, while the right tree ends up in planks." - Chinese proverb

24.01.2022 With some very hot temperatures expected over the next few days, make sure you take some precautions to protect your garden, plants, trees and shrubs and of course yourselves. Give the ground a deep soaking in the evenings or mornings Cover any small or medium exotic or heat sensitive trees with shade cloth where possible, this can reduce direct sunlight by 50%. Protect trunks, especially on the West side if possible to reduce sunburn caused by direct sunlight.... Avoid watering during the hot parts of the day. Avoid watering directly on foliage Resist any pruning or transplanting jobs until more suitable conditions arrive. Dont forget our wildlife too, they require water, leave some around the garden in sheltered and protected places. And dont forget to check in with your friends, family and neighbours, the sick and elderly are particularly vulnerable in extreme weather conditions so make sure you keep in contact. And make sure you keep an eye on the local emergency warning apps, fire can move quickly, be prepared and stay safe. Oh and of course stay hydrated Take care.

22.01.2022 This is a great story...

22.01.2022 Thanks to the Montrose Football and Netball club for the shout out, in such a strange time we all need to support each other. We are proud to be a sponsor of a great local club!

20.01.2022 Is "Crown Shyness" a trees way of social distancing? Maybe the trees have been telling us something all along, Tree FX - Quality Tree Management at this moment is open for somewhat normal operations... however we are taking necessary precautions to avoid the spread of Covid 19 and keep our staff and clients safe. I would like to highlight a few implementations that may affect you the client...... In line with our environmental policy, we have been running with a paperless office structure for some years now, so we would like to reassure you that our entire process, of collecting client details, setting appointments for our arborists and providing quotes and invoices can all be done through our electronic job management system. If you would like a quote and can send photos and detailed explanations of the work that is required we can in some circumstances quote remotely or if further site investigation is required carry out site inspections whilst on the phone or at a safe distance. We have not accepted cheques for payment for some time so we would like to reinforce this and also extend this to a restriction on cash payments too. We will not accept cash or cheques as this is an unnecessary exchange, we do accept bank transfer, direct debits and credit card payments made over the phone. (If you have concerns about payment methods please speak with our office staff.) All equipment is being cleaned and sanitised daily and where possible or appropriate between each use, including, vehicles, machinery, tools, factory premises etc etc. Personal hygiene policies have been put into place for our staff and gloves will be used where appropriate. On job days the "site walk through" will be limited to one client and one team leader, no physical contact is necessary and social distancing laws will be adhered too. This can also be undertaken remotely or via video or phone call. As per our current policy all completed jobs will be photographed for our records and the clients. This list is not complete or exhaustive and will be updated regularly. We are monitoring the situation closely and receiving advice from the appropriate government bodies and health organisations. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE PREXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR A FALL INTO A HIGH RISK DEMOGRAPHIC LET US KNOW PRIOR TO YOUR QUOTE OR JOB VISIT SO WE CAN IMPLEMENT FURTHER APPROPRIATE STRATEGIES. Its business as usual but not quite as usual, we trust that you continue to support the many small businesss likely to be impacted by this pandemic, as we will continue to support and service our clients and community. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to call or contact the office. 1300TREEFX 130087339 or l [email protected] Kind Regards Dean and the Tree FX team

20.01.2022 Sometimes you see some weird and wonderful things when out looking at trees. This Gleditsia had two trees growing with completely different foliage. What I think is a Gleditsia triacanthos "ruby lace" was growing from a grafted root stock, however the original root stock which was the standard Gleditsia triacanthos had also grown a full tree with the standard foliage colour. I have seen root stocks shoot before but never with such contrast.... interesting...

19.01.2022 Memories: 9 years ago I was working in Oslo, Norway... surrounded by great people and great arborists doing what I loved.... This is one of my favorite photos, I think it goes close to capturing the "highs" we feel as climbing arborists.... With a job like this how could you not love what you do? (Photo: Ian Hollows)

18.01.2022 As Melbourne moves into Stage 4 Restrictions unfortunately Tree FX - Quality Tree Management is forced to cease all normal work operations as of Wednesday 5th August 11.59pm. As a company dedicated to the health, safety and well being of our staff, our staffs family and our valued clientele we are fully committed to the lock down and the hopeful results it brings to curve the spread of Covid 19 in our community. I would like to give a huge shout out to my team who have toile...d these last few months through a difficult and challenging time. Committing to changed working conditions, bringing multiple vehicles to sites and personal cars to adhere to Social Distancing policies, lifting as a team to carry the load when team members have been absent due to isolation requirements for themselves and or family members, I am proud of all our efforts as a tight knit company as we played our small role in the fight against this pandemic. Thank you to our management team who have contacted and rescheduled all our clients in 2 days from now until 6 weeks, no small feat and I am thankful for their committed efforts. I am disappointed and frustrated by the way this has been managed by "our" State Government. I have had to stand down 11 valued employees yesterday. Some of which due to "line in the sand dates" are not eligible for the Job Keeper, and will have to enroll in the Job Seeker scheme. The toll on small business, families, and the mental health of our community is unfathomable and I trust that as we do our part that the community as a whole plays their part too. Please STAY HOME. STAY SAFE. I will have my fingers and toes crossed that in 6 weeks from now we will have done enough to allow us the Freedoms to continue to work, a lot more than just the obvious is at stake. Thank you all for your understanding. Myself and Liliana will continue to monitor the phones and emails and will be available for all legitimate Emergency works... (After all the role of a small business owner and family never stops, for them Business is ALWAYS open.)... Any other small business owners or individuals that are experiencing a hard time, please do not hesitate to contact me personally, I will be available to talk and for support. Thanks again... Dean

18.01.2022 We just picked up this custom made Powerful Owl nesting box ready for a job next week. Thanks again to Jason @Knox Wildlife Nesting Boxes...

16.01.2022 Its not all about big trees and chainsaws.... This comquat in a private garden in Camberwell was planted in 1940. It required a little bit of care, with a light prune and some advice to the client regarding pest management; this tree will hopefully see another 80 odd years... ...

13.01.2022 Its a Beautiful day! Show us whats happening in your garden.

13.01.2022 If you get a chance tune in to the TV tonight to catch Jeremy from Cloudehill Gardens being interviewed about these spectacular gardens in Olinda. We were priveledged to be working in the gardens just last week, pruning two large Beech and an Elm. In fact it was where our latest Tree FX profile picture was Snapped by our trainee Sean Rollfink which won our in house photo competition.

13.01.2022 Im not sure how well this would work, I like the concept but managing tree pest and diseases in a large fruit tree population may be quite expensive... what are your thoughts?
