While the amazing instrumental track is short, it packs a punch with layers, fast isolations and moments to breathe.... Learn sword techniques and strategies that pop on stage. Practise sword improvisation with a lead and follower. Workshop fast and slow moves for groups including sword holding and balancing techniques. Learn sword techniques for mixed level groups i.e. accessible for beginners with stretch techniques for advanced dancers. Pippas workshops are always fun and energising. 18.01.2022 WORKSHOP RELEASE!!! Time to get excited - here's your first peek of the fabulous workshops we will have on offer this year. First up, the infamous DEVI MAMAK. WS1 - Concepts, Combos and Creative Ideas for Duets, Trios & Quartets In this workshop you will learn brand new ATS(r) movement dialect concepts for duets, trios and quartets including various new ways of fading, brand new combos for duelling duets and exciting ways of travelling around a partner. This workshop is fun... so bring a friend! Suitable for beyond beginner to advanced. WS2 - Crazy Rhythms, Cool Head Using her decades of experience as a classical piano teacher and dancer Devi will show you how to dance to those crazy rhythms WITHOUT having to alter your steps or having to create new combinations for many of the time signatures. In this lesson Devi will show you how to pull apart and group various time signatures as well as using the most appropriate speed for each time signature which will enable you to use a broader range of time signatures and musical choices for your next performance piece! If time allows we will look at 6/8, 9/8, 3/4 and 10/4. BYO pen and paper. Suitable for styles intermediate to advanced. 13.01.2022 THIS IS IT!!! SPECIAL GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT!!! KRISTINE ADAMS - International dancer of mystery, crusader of ATS World Domination! Kristine Adams was born and raised in the SF Bay Area. Daughter of educators/artists she was infused with a love of self expression and instruction at a young age. Kristine dabbled in all forms of expression and had her stage debut at the age of five.... Her first passion was for storytelling through the written word, which morphed to storytelling through photography, and then to storytelling through dance. Kristine achieved her BFA in photography in 2002 and with more free time promptly fell into belly dance. She began studying with Carolena Nericcio in 2003 and was invited to dance professionally with FatChanceBellyDance June 13, 2005 and stayed a principle member of the illustrious FatChanceBellyDance Troupe until she left in August 2017. In August of 2012 Kristine launched her own journey around the world, www.fromthebellyoftraveler.com where she lived out of bag and traveled to as many ATS studios as she could as she made her way around the world, she wrapped up her journey April 2016. After 70 countries and hundreds of dancers, Kristine Adams FCBD Emeritus, enjoys dancing with everyone she can, she sees herself as one of the many caretakers of this beautiful dance form and loves to share her in depth knowledge of ATS and her creative storytelling to encourage all ATS dancers out there to find their own voice. #ATSWorldDomination. 04.01.2022 WORKSHOP TEACHER ANNOUNCEMENT! *** DANIELLE SANSOM *** Danielle has been studying and performing ATS and fusion belly dance since 2005 and has been teaching since 2009, founding Wild Spice Belly Dance Company, (formerly The Barefoot Gypsies), in 2010. She is renowned for her sassy, cheeky style and her stunning troupe choreographies that deliver that WOW factor! ... Danielle has completed her ATS Teacher Training Certificate as well as Rachel Brices 8 Elements Phase I, and has studied with many Master Teachers from the USA and Australia. This choreography includes double fan veils and skirt work and is adaptable for small groups but best with full troupes.
