25.01.2022 Very, very cool! Me when I was a tacker the old man had an 18' clinker hull boat with a 1 cyl inboard with a rope pull start on it. he usta take us kids down to the ramp at Tewantin, push the boat off the trailer and say like see yous at 5pm, have fish. All we had was hand lines, hooks and sinkers, mono and squid and livies we caught on the fly and you know what? We always caught fish!. Wayyy back in the day!! Tricky..

24.01.2022 Today I was wayyy up the Mary river here in Hervey Bay, well Riverheads actually. Lotsa driving, lotsa sounding, lots and lots of casts but we found some cracker sandflats & deep edged mud river banks & were rewarded with these 2 bad babies! nothing beats flattie in foil on the barbie! That's dinner tonite btw. I caught these guys on hard bodies, a brand called Thompson lures from the states and they have caught me everything from mackerel, cod, flatties, sharks, and many more species, they really are exceptional lures, especially the white/silver guys, standouts! Anyone who knows me knows I'm not precious about using just my own gear. like any smart fisho you use what works on the day, as #DaveyQuinnell says find the pattern, find the fish.

22.01.2022 You should all go and buy this month's #Fishandboatmagazine we got a full-page editorial done by #DanKaggelis and it's a cracker! The rap we got from Dan was amazing & it just goes to show you if your passionate about what you do & make cracker gear that catches fish then there's the reward right there! We are also about to run a comp on the Fish and boat facebook page for 15 packs of our soft plastics or your choice of 15 of anything in our website shop. That's starting in the next coupla days & I'll post it & the link to fnb then. Also, we will be at the Sunshine coast boating, camping, caravaning & outdoor expo on the last weekend of September. 17.01.2022 TrickysLures and all the boyz will be at the Sunshine Coast Caravan, Boating and Lifestyle expo on the 25th to 27th September at Kawana showgrounds right opposite the big Shimano fish tank. Next month we will be running a comp for those of you within distance of the expo. The prize is 2 free entry tickets plus your choice of any 10 of our products at the expo. So who's in? Plus!!! big news!! The great Aussie fishing magazine #fishandboat will be doing a full-page editorial on trickyslures in the September issue! #DanKaggelis did the article and it's pretty impressive. He has been throwing our gear for a few months now up in Cairns and has caught some pretty impressive fish on them. 11.01.2022 Packed up!! Boats ready, camping gears packed & ready for 3 days barra fishing @ Lake Monduran. Leaving in the morning, back sat or sunday! Camping, fishing with mates does it get any better? Well hopefully it will when we will catch some barra!

09.01.2022 Here at TrickysLures we are all about innovation, pushing the boundaries, making new and better stuff. So with that in mind, we have started making our own live Bait cast nets! these things are purely designed for 1 purpose, to catch live bait. they are based on a very old design called Gore nets, Icecream cone-shaped, 7' wide and made to throw from the jetty or the boat in close quarters. I use cast nets a lot, a real lot! live baiting barra and threadies up here just gets ...me going and I wanted something better than the BCF stuff. These guys are 8 panels, hand sowed, bottom chain nets. They cast perfectly, throw a perfect circle every time, and are crackers in the boat. They ain't cheap but you get what you pay for! Twice the thickness of store-bought nets, nylon not mono, chain on the bottom, and runners up the seams for strength. They will be around $250 each plus postage and you get a bucket for holding your livies, a repair kit (cause no matter how good the net is it will get snagged and rip) a guide on repairing and sewing and I might even throw in a TrickysLures sticker! They will outlast a cheap net by a factor of 20! We are taking advance orders soon so if your keen send me a message! Tricky. See more

04.01.2022 Here are some advance shots of our new pastel range of finesse & KT soft plastics. I did these guys with a gold shimmer base colour overlayed with a translucent colour. They came out pretty well! Especially the pink, I reckon they will slay fish! the grey ones aren't bad either a perfect baitfish colour. They will be up in the store shortly. Tricky.

04.01.2022 I decided to make some swim jigs. I used a thinner profile jighead for extra shimmy through the water with a long Aberdeen bend hook on it. The Aberdeen hook is a long shank hook with a smaller gape so it will resist hooking up on sticks. They come in our standard 6 umbrella skirt colours with your choice of a twin tail or a KT paddletail on it. As well we are doing a design your own swim jig page with a heap of different colour skirts so you can choose jighead colour, skirt colour & soft plastic style.

03.01.2022 How's the set of choppers on this guy! Caught in the shallows on the west side of fraser, big jumps, big runs yet when we took out the hook to release it it was relaxed and just swam off! Great fun to catch though. Julie-anne nailed it on a clear 3" TrickysLures curlytail, a perfect bait imitation on the day.
