20.01.2022 Its So Fresh! Surprisingly, Collingwood has some of the best fresh food and produce suppliers in Melbourne. Famous for its sausages, Jonathans on Smith Street is an institution serving some of Melbournes best meat cuts for the past 35 years. For fresh fish, you cant do better than Ocean Made Seafood, a wholesale and retail fishmonger located deep in the backstreets of Collingwood. Sonsa Foods is your local independent grocery, where you will find just about everything, including their delicious hummus, baklava, hot nuts, fruit, vegetables, meat, milk and fresh Turkish bread; all at affordable prices. Also look out for Hinoki Japanese Pantry and Aunt Maggie's organic grocer.

You must try Addict Food & Coffee on Johnston Street, which has recently established itself as a local favourite in part due to its creative breakfast menu and perhaps also due to the hip hop tracks that rotate through their playlist. Or theres Proud Mary Coffee Roasters and Cafe, which has some of the best coffee going round, or Lemon Middle & Orange with a seven-day breakfast menu, with an emphasis on seasonality, flavour and fun. There is also CIBI or Breakfast Thieves, De Clieu or Tomboy, Birdman Eating, BLUEBIRD ESPRESSO or... okay you get the picture!

07.01.2022 This is Music to Your Ears!! The Tote Hotel has a 35-year reputation for showcasing new and emerging musical talent. Distinctly Australian rock and roll bands like The Meanies, Cosmic Psychos, Magic Dirt and Underground Lovers have been regulars at the venue; not to mention sometimes secret shows by visiting international acts, including the likes of The White Stripes and Mudhoney. By no means pretty, supporters cried when she closed; many thousands rallied for her re-opening and Melbourne was all the better for important changes to state laws which allowed The Tote and others like her to retain their rightful place as an integral part of Melbournes authentic live music scene.

At No. 5 is Guy Matthews, a longtime collector and trader of local vintage industrial furniture from Australia and the world. At No 7. is RedFox & Wilcox, who combine their love for beautiful design, quality materials and honest craft to produce simple yet stylish handcrafted furniture from salvaged timber and recycled materials. And at No 30 there is the furniture of father and daughter duo Douglas and Bec. With most of the work actually handmade by Douglas.

This popular latenight live music venue is run by the rock and roll royalty of Cherry Bar fame, who have established Yah Yahs as a champion of garage rock, soul and rockabilly.
