16.01.2022 The weekend of the 30th November & 1st December 1991 saw the running of the first Reining Derby Show staged in this country. The show was successfully run by the Victorian Reining Horse Association. A total of 8 classes were held at the show, sponsored by Phoenix Quarter Horses, the main event was the Phoenix Open Derby, Non Pro Derby, Junior Horse Reining, Rookie Rider Reining, Youth Reining, Non Pro Reining, Ladies Reining and Open Reining. From 1991 to 2020 the Derby Show increased slightly consisting of 43 classes ! Check out the write up from the 1992 QH Magazine and the write up by Sue Woodhose, Sue was another founding committee of the VRHA along with Gary Browne, David Norbury, Diane Rose, Dave Wedlock. 13.01.2022 For all 2021 VRHA shows, programs will reference patterns to the current year 2021 NRHA Handbook, the below link for the Handbook also includes all NRHA Patterns 1-16 plus Patterns A & B. Any queries or concerns about ensuring you have the correct pattern at the show please don't hesitate to contact your club committee ! A great way to become familiar with the patterns whether you are a competitor, aspiring to become a Judgeor just learn more about Reining is to scribe at ...a show. Riders are permitted to scribe after the completion of their classes at a show which is a great way to learn more and gain experience about how the patterns are scored, Let us know if you would like to scribe and learn more about your sport and we can certainly accommodate to make this happen. The 2021 Handbook and Pattern Book can also be accessed through the NRHA ReinerSuite, once logged into your Dashboard they can be found under the Resources / Library link.

01.01.2022 SCRHA 2020 Championship Show Important update.Firstly we want to assure all competitors that the committee of the SCRHA are committed to making this show happen.... Our original dates of 21st to 26th Sept still stand at this point in time. We will revisit this decision on the 31st August , please be assured if a postponement is required we have locked in another set of dates at K Ranch from 26th Oct to the 1st November. Covid-19 has made having this years show very challenging so please bear with us as we work towards getting it done. We want to keep you riding and striving at home so lets have some fun! Due to the current circumstances we are unsure of when we will all be up and showing again as per normal, so for now we are offering some online showing fun. $20 per run for non VRHA members $15 for VRHA members.
