25.01.2022 There have been several new features added to VIRA this month which we were excited to share with the organisations who are already using VIRA. 19.01.2022 Happy New Year to our VIRA users! The VIRA team is always working on new exciting features and the first new feature of the year has been added. When using the event calendar in VIRA the run-sheet export now provides the user with total volunteers expected and total hours.

16.01.2022 Meet the team behind VIRA Last week we featured Robert and today we introduce to you...Felicity Smith What she does: Felicity is our support desk. If you're having issues, she knows how to overcome them. She listens to those who are having difficulties and escalates their problems to create an easier-to-use app for everyone.... Felicity keeps both the sector informed of everything that happens in the VIKTOR world and the web team at Eduka on call to make sure any software issues are resolved immediately. Felicity is the zen in our help desk! Yes we do use Zendesk to manage our support. Background: Felicity joined the VIKTOR team in 2012, taking on the sole responsibility of supporting our broad range of users. Before then, she was volunteering and has always loved the art of giving. With a background in hospitality Felicity is the ultimate customer service person. She will not rest until every person that contacts us with a problem receives a helpful answer or outcome.
15.01.2022 UPDATE: VIRA Sign-in sheet Available If you have someone in a reception role, the new VIRA sign-in sheet is just what you need. You can log each volunteer as they enter, and sign them out when they leave. This will give you not only a record of the hours they volunteered, but also a list of all volunteers currently on-site.
14.01.2022 Are you a Volunteer Resource Centre? With VIRAs add-on Registration Widget, you can Recruit Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIOs) as members. This will enable visitors to your website to register as an organisation on the VIKTOR Database. Once you approve them, the organisation will be attached to your VIKTOR account so you can manage them, saving you from manually entering all the information yourself. UPDATE: Bulk Hours Entry Option You can now easily enter larger volumes of hours data, with the new bulk entry form in the administration section! Simply enter the details of the volunteering, select all the volunteers that participated, and youre done - no need to go to each volunteer individually.

02.01.2022 Meet the web team from Eduka What we do: We tirelessly support, design, develop, and work to ensure VIKTOR remains Australia's comprehensive volunteering software. We've given back to the volunteering sector with thousands of in-kind hours over the last ten years. Our experience with developing this product from the ground up and working with the state peak for volunteering in WA means we have a unique understanding of how the sector works and what the sector needs.... Ben from our crew works for 3 days a week at Volunteering WA to understand how volunteering actually happens on the ground and provides us with the best intel on how real users use the software. Background: We're a small, focussed bunch of web-loving Aussies who treasure being part of something that helps benefit Australian communities. We brought VIKTOR truly online by rescuing it from a failed attempt by a large solutions provider to move it from an Access database, and transformed it into the national web-based software it is today.

01.01.2022 Meet the team behind VIRA! Robert Solomon What he does: Robert personally helps volunteering organisations come on board. He helps transfer their data and guides them on how to fit VIRA and VIKTOR into their current workflow. Robert knows all of VIRA and VIKTOR's ins and outs and takes on ideas as he goes, requesting enhancements to keep VIKTOR up with volunteering today.... Robert is a regular traveller to volunteer resource centres across Australia for training on the VIKTOR family products. He is also in demand for thinking out of the box when it comes to wanting a solution. Where there's a Robert there's never a can of Coke too far away, and he's mastered the art of convincing people to eat chips and lollies using a secret packet-shaking technique. Background: Robert is a former TAFE lecturer with an IT background, and was first hired by Volunteering WA in 1999 to provide IT support and development. He worked on the original VIKTOR, and came up with ideas to suit VWA that he quickly realised could also help other organisations across WA and Australia. Robert works for one day every week at Eduka to understand how the programming and database must work to meet his stringent and sometimes overwhelming requests to ensure the sector has the best software possible.

01.01.2022 This month we're excited to launch a new calendar feature for referral officers. Referral officers will soon be able to view a two-week calendar summary on their dashboard, with the ability to open a full calendar. This calendar will display any future appointments that have been entered into VIKTOR with them as the referral officer. VRC managers will see the same display, but it will show all booked consultations, as well as allowing them to be moved and assigned to a differ...ent referral officer. For those people that have recently started using VIRA after attending one of our training sessions, please dont forget that we have support staff to assist if you need any assistance.
