21.01.2022 This week we are spotlighting Springbok Upholstery. Springbok Upholstery was established as a small family business in Grays, Essex, England back in 1996. In early 2007 they moved to Perth, Western Australia. It was only a couple of months before they were up and running producing high quality furniture for both the commercial and domestic markets. Kumiko started sewing while she was in school and has all the skills for any sewing challenge. Tony was trained by some of the be...st upholsterers in England in all aspect of upholstery, but, without his knowledge, it had started many years before. When he was still a kid he started making leather belts, studded wrist bands and other items to sell in the local street market over the weekend. His future was already being set. He was already learning upholstery. The feel of different fabrics and leather is the core to an upholsterer`s skills. Having been surrounded by gloom for the past month it is terrific to hear a good news story. Franco Mannino had promised his wife a bedroom mirror for years and so recently set about completing this task. Cherry was her favourite timber which was extensively used along with some Olive wood.
