01.01.2022 Big love to the talented Nakia Cadd for working with our Wala Sisters in our mentoring Program to create this beautiful piece embodying our sisters journey The wala (water) design represents the journey, flowing from where we are now (left gathering circle) to where we are going (right gathering circle). The U symbols represent our matriarchs, the strong women before us who laid down the foundations in our communities; our Wala sisters, mentors, Aunties and our old people... who guide us. A reminder we come from greatness! Nakia Cadd #wala #walasisters #journey #art #firstnations #women #matriarch #strength
