25.01.2022 Vous avez des souvenirs de Paris? Do you have memories of Paris ? . Every time I see the Arc de Triomphe it reminds me of the time when I lived in Paris and my darling dad visited me. As we were in the Hotel and Restaurant business he suggested we go to Champagne as he had an old friend from @champagnelanson and it would be a great experience to share. He was right. I hired a car and left Paris taking this rond-point (round about) to exit the city. A gendarme stopped me and I... can still hear dad and I laughing , albeit probably stressed about it. No traffic really back then but it was definitely challenging. We had the best day, topped off with a fabulous lunch . Ive realised that distance from family and the ones we love doesnt diminish the relationships. We are visiting my husbands children and grandchildren overseas and we havent seen them for a year ! . 02.01.2022 Vous preferez cette image en couleur or noir et blanc? . Do you prefer this photo in colour or black and white ? . I was having a play with the edit button and realised I could achieve this. It takes me back many years when I discovered photography. My grandfather bought me a Canon A1 with filters and a box to store the lot! I loved it.... . One of our customers at our Hotel was the head of Kodak at the time , and suggested I learn how to develop B&W images myself, so I did! . What joy to watch the emulsion and achieve the end result. . I remember my first trip to Provence , and Im taking us all back to pre tourism!! ... I guess a bit like now without all of us intruding in the beautiful perched and cobbled stone villages !! . The texture of the stone, the contrast of the landscape, the way the light and shadows are accentuated gives us a reason to pause and consider the image a bit longer . I think this image looks more timeless . This could be a photo I took back in the 80s . What do you think?
