24.01.2022 Another wonderful day on Lady Bay today. While it was a bit chilly, we had a nice 10-20 knot gusty westerly with a nice, flat sea. We had 5 sabres and 4 laser radials sailing today with mixed results over 2 races. photo credit - Peter Goodman. Thanks Peter.

24.01.2022 It would be great to have as many people as possible at our AGM next Tuesday 26th.

24.01.2022 It seems so long ago since we last sailed!! Great memories of our regatta back in February. Thanks again for coming Susannah! Thank goodness we're not at Lake Bullen Merri at the Easter Regatta at the moment though!!! We'll ride this out and next season isn't too far away. Stay safe everyone!!

23.01.2022 Hope we don't get this desperate, but it did make me smile.

22.01.2022 Well Easter is nearly upon us and the committee have been working hard to put on another great regatta. This year everyone needs to consider a few extra things in regard to keeping everyone safe.

22.01.2022 At least the surfers are having fun in front of the yacht club today.

21.01.2022 It's hard to imagine that this is now where our yacht club stands.

19.01.2022 Thanks to Port Fairy Yacht Club and Australian Sailing - Victoria for organising this course for our region. Either as a refresher or for those new to sailing o...r running club sailing events including regattas. New RRS coming out January so be great to hear the new changes. Be great for clubs running regattas to have members competent in running sailing events. 19.01.2022 When the skipper calls social distance at the top mark!!

18.01.2022 12 RC Lasers had a training session today in Warrnambool. We welcomed some skippers from Portland and Colac to show us their skills. Don launched his new ‘toy’ and after he worked out his remote control and how to steer his boat, he did a lot better! A bit more breeze would have been better too!

15.01.2022 Fabulous article acknowledging the volunteers in our sport. These two just happen to be the parents of our Commodore, Don. Clubs like ours simply wouldn’t be able to operate without our wonderful volunteers.

15.01.2022 The forecast for tomorrow, is for nice weather with an increasing southeasterly. To beat the afternoon strengthening winds we are going to move briefing to 1230hrs with start time around 1330hrs. Sorry if there is any inconvenience.

14.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to today's announcement of Covid restrictions, our annual presentation night, that is programmed for this Saturday night, has been postponed. We hope to reschedule it in the very near future. Stay tuned....

12.01.2022 Check out this great drone footage of our sailing yesterday on Lady Bay. What an idyllic place to sail! #warrnamboolbreakwater #ladybay #warrnambool #dronevideo #covidsailing #warrnamboolbeach #sabresailing #Sabres #sailinglife #lasersailing Video credit - Vincent Lee

10.01.2022 Unfortunately, but the right and only decision, Yachting Western Victoria has cancelled this year’s Easter Regatta at Lake Bullen Merri. We’ll see everyone back in 2021.

10.01.2022 What an awesome day we had for our season opener today! Perfect weather, lovely breeze and flat sea (albeit a bit brown due to the local flooding this week). We had 12 yachts compete in 2 races this afternoon and there was some serious tussling amongst the Sabre fleet. While we’re grateful that we are able to sail, we look forward to when we will be able to enjoy some après sail again. #covidsailing

10.01.2022 We had a great day hosting Portland Yacht Club for the first day of a two day interclub regatta. Thanks to all those who made the trip.

09.01.2022 Sailing day one, Easter regatta Lake Bullen Merri

08.01.2022 Some great photos of our last day of club racing for the year. Thanks to Lori Wilson for taking these photos.

08.01.2022 It is with much regret that, after much thought, the rest of the current season will have to be cancelled. As soon as we can see light at the end of this tunnel, some sailing activities will be organised. The results for this season will be worked out and the results posted. Thanks, Don.

08.01.2022 Jasmine Shears at sail training this morning.

07.01.2022 Sail training with Asher.

05.01.2022 Who knows when, or even if, we’ll get a season in this year . But it was a fun general meeting via Zoom tonight announcing our club champion for season 2019/20....Geoff Kilminster. Congratulations Geoff, it was a hotly contested pennant with Glenda Allen coming in a close 2nd and Peter Russell 3rd. Our AGM will be held in a fortnight, also via Zoom. Link to the meeting was emailed to members last week.

04.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to the sailing mums and to the mums who sail.

03.01.2022 Due to the current conditions and forecast for the rest of the day, sailing at WYC has sadly been cancelled for today.

03.01.2022 Can I go sailing? Please see below link for the latest guidance from Australian Sailing for the sailing community https://www.sailing.org.au//can-i-go-sailing-guidance-for/

03.01.2022 Love a bit of stop motion....

02.01.2022 Now what will we do on Boxing Day?? Difficult but right decision.

01.01.2022 Looks familiar??

01.01.2022 Thanks to Portland Yacht Club for visiting us for our racing on Saturday, then we reciprocated yesterday. It was certainly different for the WYC sailors sailing on flat water for a change. We had a ball. Thanks for having us.

01.01.2022 We only have a couple of weeks left to the season and today’s sailing was completely different to November when we canceled races due to too much wind. The first race was in light to no wind in a glassy rolling sea. The wind picked up in the second race and we got our boats up and moving. With a bit of confusion as to what the course was the race through up some surprise results that will have the handicapper scratching his head. Huge thanks to Glennie and Jen as our race officers and rescue team.

01.01.2022 What do you think about this???
