25.01.2022 Over the weekend we launched a new website for my old sparring partner - Aaron Adams from Dodges Ferry and his business All Air Conditioning. 24.01.2022 Did you know that you don't have to use Microsoft Office if you prefer not to pay. You can use OpenOffice by Apache - basically a free open-source version of Office that contains most of the features we need from Microsoft Office anyway. I had a client recently who has used Microsoft Office for years on her laptop, but Microsoft sneakily upgraded her to trial the newer version of Office. Unfortunately once that trial was over in 30 days she could no longer open her Word docu...ments without being told to purchase the new version of Office, and could not roll-back to the old version she was happy with (Microsoft deliberately make it very difficult to roll-back, to force you to purchase the newer version). We installed OpenOffice, which allows you to open and save documents as Word or other Microsoft compatible documents, and the client is very happy with the new solution. So if you are unsure that you want to pay for Microsoft Office next time around, just remember there is another very good alternative out there!

22.01.2022 Need a Wifi Signal Boost? A client needed wifi in her shed which is 40 metres from her house, with the help of an inexpensive antenna from Little Devil Antennas we achieved full strength wifi signal throughout the shed, with the modem sitting in the house 40m away, just through the use of a directional antenna and the right modem. If you need help with wifi range issues, we can help :)

22.01.2022 Web Helper (Rich) is back in Tassie from April 1 to May 19 for 7 weeks, we are meeting with several clients over that time so please get in touch if you need help or want to discuss any website changes or new requirements. We also assist with Email Newsletters for business clients and still actively offer remote support to many of our IT Support clients. 12.01.2022 We have just launched a new website for Wolf Property Management - located locally in Dodges Ferry. Ruth Malcolm has excellent experience in property management, we have used her for our own properties for the past few years and have never had tenant issues since. 07.01.2022 What's been happening? We recently finished the Rock Solid Geotechnics website for Lewisham local Peter Hofto, this is a fantastic Word Press CMS template with the entire site on one page that smoothly scrolls from one section to the next, you can view the site from our page here: www.webhelper.com.au . There is a new business card / logo in the works for local plumber Leigh Bell and we are building a few Microsoft email templates for Wunderman agency in Sydney. We also just... completed new email templates for The Powerhouse Museum and Panadol, for other Sydney agencies. On Friday just gone I had a Lewisham client who is having trouble tethering (using her mobile phone as a wireless hotspot) her brand new Samsung Galaxy, we tried several things but looks like it is an issue with the phone, has anyone else experienced problems with using their phone as a hotspot? 05.01.2022 Yesterday we launched another tidy website, this time for Liquid Creations agency in Sydney, they provided the design and we handled the Website Development in a tight timeframe. The site is to promote a new brand of reusable coffee cup called Boo Cup - the lids and cups are made from sustainable bamboo fibre, they are only sold wholesale so they are looking for cafe's and retailers interested in stocking them. 03.01.2022 Happy slightly cold Friday! Web Helper have finally made time to update our own site at http://www.webhelper.com.au - with our new site out there we will be more actively looking for more clients in Sydney and Melbourne and other places around Australia and hopefully of course a few more in our backyard here in Southern Tas.
