15.01.2022 31 MEMBERS: Jordan Lee would like to flag the need for a Working Bee (prior to our CLUB DAY on the 7th/8th of November)... He proposes Saturday 31st of October from 9am as a day to carry out a Working Bee to tidy our track up for the following weekends racing. The Working Bee will be conducted in a CovidSafe manner including sanitising hands and wearing of masks to keep each other safe. Work that has been carried out over the past month has been, spraying weeds around the track and pit area, scale maintenance, mowing infield of track. mowing the whole site whipper snipping the site, especially around the tyre bundles that have been sprayed. fluff up with bark chips clean out the lap scorer box clean the toilet block. check audio prior to race day. lawn mowers with catchers whippers snippers brooms, shovels, rakes a rotary hoe - if possible, for bark chips ( ) . 15.01.2022 SOLD PENDING PAYMENTS The Southwest Kart club is offering 22 reserved pit sites to Karters at our upcoming Victorian Country Series meeting. These sites will b...e in close proximity to the grids and canteen/ toilets. The sites are fairly generous in size 5.7 meters x 6 meters (for side opening trailers, and some rear loading trailers, depending on configuration). Or 3.3 meters x 7.6 meters (for rear opening trailers). Sites numbered 1 to 7 and are for rear loading trailers. $70 each Sites 8 to 22 are for side opening trailers and some rear loaders. $50 each. The advantages are. Guaranteed reserved spot no matter how late you arrive. Just rock up and take your spot. Easy access to your spot even when the pits are full. 10.01.2022 15yr old BRODI DOLAN from Remo’s hometown of Horsham Victoria has a passion to work with his hands. Earlier this year an old member of the Wimmera Kart Racing C...lub Gerard Bardell had an early 80’s model Excell chassis in his shed and offered it to Brodi and to say it needed some TLC was an understatement. Brodi saw its potential and put his mind to it that he was going to restore the kart to its glory days and that is exactly what he did and got some stickers from us to do it up. Amazing! Many people associate karting with young drivers, but adults are also very active in karting. People of all ages can enjoy the sport with children as young as six getting behind the wheel. Karting teaches these children, both boys and girls, basic driving skills well before they are able to obtain their road licence.... Karting is competitive, but it is also fun and family orientated, with involvement in the sport both on and off the track giving it a strong feeling of community. With the relaxation of some of the government restrictions in regional Victoria we are now allowed to have groups of 10 again at Sporting venues. ... This means that all drivers may bring a mechanic to help them service their kart, but we still must respect the social distancing and the wearing of masks and groups of 10 at all times.
