25.01.2022 I find it so helpful to get out in to nature every day and so does my big kid. There's something really soothing about walking through trees, listening to the birds and slowing your breath to calm everything down. Babywearing - helping me to keep calm even during the chaos of a second lock down. ................. 25.01.2022 Happy 'Wear it Purple' day. We're proud to support and educate young LGTBIQ people and their families. This one is very close to home as I grew up watching sibling struggle with their gender identity. Check in with those young folks, celebrate their identities, tell them you love them and make sure they know they have your support. Let them speak, let them grow, let them lead. Growing up is a tricky business and while we hold our young ones in wraps and in arms, it's just as important for us to hold space for them as they grow. ................ 24.01.2022 Weekend sleepy vibes - turns out our blankets have sleepy vibes too and after a few days with a very clingy baby it's nice to take a walk as two seperate people every now and then. Blanket: Zen Passion Face mask: Purple Rain Both available via our website.... ...... Image shows a white woman with brown hair wearing a face mask made from purple and white woven fabric. 23.01.2022 Okay folks, I resisted producing masks because I have no interest in profiting from a pandemic but after a few requests, I've arranged to work with @frangipanibaby to sell some at cost price. First order is in and we'll get a batch out as quickly as we can, with more to follow. Any money above costs will be used to make more masks for donation, or donated to charity. Please be assured that everyone involved in production is paid fairly for their work, the price will just be w...holesale, rather than retail. Will let you know when they are up. 21.01.2022 Wrapture baby would like to remind everyone about the importance of safe babywearing. Today's PSA is about how high your carrier should be on baby's back. Too high and you raise the risk if asphyxiation, too low and you increase the risk of falls. Special thanks to the folks at @carry_aus who have put this together. We love supporting our national babywearing organisation, who provide free babywearing meets and advice. ......... Image of a white baby sitting on the sand and looking at the ocean. Text reads babywearing safety, Carry Australia. 17.01.2022 We're back! It's been a long 9 months, and certainly not how I imagined spending my maternity leave. But here we are, back with new ideas and ready to bring some beautiful new designs to life. Now, the important bits:... - Vintage Emerald is being sewn as we speak and will be released ASAP - Face masks and some wraps are available through Frangipani Baby - The website will be reopening this Sunday 6th September at 8pm. Keep your eyes peeled, change is coming! Image shows a bespectacled white woman wearing a mask with her baby in a green woven wrap with a vintage floral design. 13.01.2022 Sometimes the best photos aren't perfectly posed. They're not taken by professional photographers. There's no fancy hair or make up. Half your head might be cut off or you might not have done the perfect wrap job. The best photos capture a special moment in time. That one day when your baby wouldn't sleep, when everyone was out and you just cuddled, or when you managed to go out by yourself for a coffee. The best photos aren't always perfect, but they remind us of what it mea...ns to be a parent, of how much we love our small people, and how much they have changed us. Don't ever dismiss the importance of a babywearing selfie. One day you will look back and remember how precious all those cuddles were. .......... 12.01.2022 What a difference a weave makes! Both are size 7 wraps Both are 60% cotton, 40% bamboo Both are woven in Melbourne... Both woven in the same batch, on the same loom, with the same warp. But - check out the difference in texture, in volume, in grip. Tangent Monochrome is thin in hand, and glides into place when wrapping, often forming beautiful pleats and a tight little knot. Vintage Emerald had far more cush for picky shoulders, it's pocket weave providing extra volume and providing better grip and a wrap job that won't budge an inch. Both these beauties will be in stock in September when we re-open. ....... Image shows 2 wraps folded on a bench. The top one is a geometric design in a monochrome gradient. The bottom is an emerald and herby green, with a vintage floral design. ........... #vintageemerald #wraptup #fabricart #fabricgeekery #wearallthebabies #wearallthetoddlers #gentleparenting #wovenwrap #madeinaustralia #ethicalfashion

10.01.2022 Our first batch of face masks have hit the @frangipanibaby website. They are all size large (more sizes to come ASAP). Made from our bespoke woven wrap fabric in cotton bamboo, with an Oxford Cotton lining. These masks have two layers, with a pocket for a third or optional filter (I use paper towel). We've designed them so the ear elastic isn't sewn in, making it adjustable and easy to swap for ties if you prefer. Each mask has a nose bridge sewn in and has been made by our w...onderful sewing team who are all working from home during Stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne, Australia. ......... 10.01.2022 Not really what I thought being on mat leave would look like. Between stopping the baby from pulling down my mask, feeling sad that I couldn't kiss or sniff her head and trying to check her properly when she fell asleep while the mask obstructed my view, it definitely was a learning experience. But - it won't be forever, and reminds me that I should do more babywearing around the house. It definitely makes me appreciate the little things. Kisses, baby smells, and a warm littl...e body cuddled next to mine. ............. 08.01.2022 Hard to believe this beautiful wrap is being released next month! Seems like my mat leave has flown by - jumping from hazardous air quality to social distancing and from lock down to lockdown. Still, it's nice to get out and explore the wild pockets of the city when we get a chance (within 5km of home of course) Vintage Emerald - September release, please let me know if you have a size request because there is a very limited amount of this fabric and there will only be... 8 or so wraps. ........... .......... 02.01.2022 Prototype on a Monday night. Mum says it's very comfortable. Plus she likes the red. We're debating if it needs the nose wire but will pop it through the wash and see how it comes up. We think it's still probably better with it. This is 2 layers of wrap fabric + 1 of heavy weight interfacing (I didn't have light weight in my sewing box) and has the 6mm braided elastics for loops that I've been using for making my own cloth nappies. Mum likes the heavy weight because it sits o...ut a bit from her mouth and makes it easier for her to talk. She's a fan - I've told her she can keep this one. Don't look too closely for stitching issues, I won't be making the proper ones. ;) (winking emoji) ........
