22.01.2022 Last week we had some new district gateway signs installed on the Eyre Highway at Koongawa and Karcultaby. It was an end of an era for the "Welcome to Granite Country" signs that were much loved but had reached the end of their lifetime. The new signs feature photographs taken by local photographer Bec Smart - Smarty Pants Photography. Our photographs do not do them justice - keep your eyes peeled next time you are passing by these locations to appreciate their true beauty!... A big thank you to Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula and South Australian Tourism Commission who commissioned the sign installation.

18.01.2022 In all the craziness of the past few days, we have forgotten to share with you something exciting that happened earlier in the week. The powerlines that once were in front of the Wudinna & Districts Telecentre + Gawler Ranges Information Centre and Australian Farmer Sculpture have been removed! When restrictions allow, we recommend taking a casual stroll along the footpath to really appreciate the difference that it has made to the area. This project was awarded funding from the Power Line Environment Committee to enable enhancement of the aesthetics of the location by undergrounding the powerlines. Unfortunately the project was significantly delayed due to the implications of COVID-19 but it is fantastic to finally see works coming to a conclusion. Thank you to SA Power Networks who were responsible for the works.

08.01.2022 West Coast Bitumen will be in Wudinna next week completing our 2020/2021 road resealing program. Road resealing is an important part of our asset management program and is utilised to seal small cracks and imperfections, improve skid resistance as well as waterproof and protect the underlying road pavement.... Council's resealing program ensures the quality of our roads are retained. Resealing a road extends the life of the existing pavement, which in return provides long term cost savings.
