23.01.2022 Last weekend was a bit of sad one in our industry as far as the Central Coast in NSW goes with the closing of two retail pet stores that catered to pet keepers in their respective areas. So just a call out for everyone to consider supporting retail pet stores when you can as it would be a terrible shame to lose them all and we will if we don't support them. Whilst some consider online sellers such as ourselves 'the enemy' of traditional retail stores we see it differently. Ye...s we can generally offer better prices than a retail store as we don't have the costs that they bear - but they have the advantage of impulse buys, face to face communication and service with their customers, the convenience of offering pick up when the customer wants without having to wait around for the post, and the ability to sell livestock as well as fresh and frozen foods. We like to think that our competitive advantage of selling online is not so much price based but more based around the fact that we give people who don't live near a pet store, or those not able to travel to a pet store, the option to have all of their pet needs delivered to their door. Buying online does not have to be a competition with traditional retailers - it can be a compliment to their services. So next time you are in need of something for your pets maybe just give a thought to whether a local shop could supply what you need - and of course if not we are only too happy to accept your order.

05.01.2022 Just an introduction of our Mega Ray Mercury Vapour Bulbs and why they are considered the best in the world for those who are not familiar with them. Mercury Vapour Bulbs are favoured as a heat, light, and UV source for sun loving reptile species such as dragons, skinks, and some snakes. When we say UV in relation to these bulbs we mean full spectrum UV which includes UVA (for activity and appetite) and UVB (for growth and development). An all in one bulb enables you to keep ...your set up simple while acheiving all the required results. European made Mega Ray bulbs are 240v as opposed to most Chinese made bulbs which are 220v. Given that Australian electricity supply is 240v with variance around that it is best to have a bulb that more accurately meets those needs. Generally speaking a 220v bulb will work much harder than a 240v bulb and therefore will not last as long. There is nothing wrong with using 220v bulbs, we sell them ourselves, but when you are spending decent money on a bulb like you do when you buy Mercury Vapour you really want the bulb to last as long as you can get it to last! These bulbs are focused beam so they produce very bright light and high UVB concentrated like a patch of sunlight. Being self ballasted lamps they produce more heat and an even more intense visible light than other types of bulb. They are standard E27 screw in bulbs to will fit any compatable ES screw fitting but make sure that you double check the wattage limits of your fittings to ensure that they are compatable with the bulb you choose. All sizes of heat cords now sold out except for 4m, 4.3m, and 6m.... Ceramic heat emitters 100W in both flat and dome shape sold out but good stocks of other wattages still available. Halogen lights bulbs in 35W, 50W, and 100W almost sold out, but good stocks of 75W left. Basking bulbs all wattages sold out except for 35W and 150W.
