13.01.2022 CRIMINAL HISTORIES in Qld are only available to people with that person's consent...or via court subpoena. A lady found out through family law fight her partner had previous history for deprivation of liberty and assault....had she had known or been able to check she would never have risked getting involved, but two kids later, many dollars with legals....and possibly a future burden on Centrelink...why doesn't the government change the access to the system to be like other countries, anyone can check a person's history....make them public records, not so much for the deterrent value of embarrassment, but protect future victims such as partners, thus reducing the recurrence of DV and employers might not like dishonest applicants. Prevention is better than cure, all day, every day.
