25.01.2022 The inaugural Cricket match between the Cats and the Yallourn North was played today at the George Bates Reserve, for The Rudi Bence Memoroal. The game went the full distance with a the Cats running out 5 run winners. Peter Duncan spoke and presented the trophy to Cats Captain Luke Bence. Below is the video of the presentation. Unfortunately I missed the first 10 seconds because I didnt turn it. Thanks to young Musty he noticed. I am indebted. Cheers Oh! Peter is a Past President of the Cats.

24.01.2022 Its with a really heavy heart that I have to post this. The much loved JP yesterday morning sadly passed away in a car crash. The man was only with us for a short time but my lord did he leave an impact on our club. His quick wit humor will be missed but most importantly we have lost a bloke that had time for everyone. All the time. No matter what. His role as B grade skipper this season had plenty of ups and downs and results didnt go his way very oftenhe always came back... to the rooms with an outrageous story of the days play to tell everyone full of smiles and laughs. Please reach out to each other and help each other through this tough time. Im sure there will be more to remember and share once this all sets in - JP had many significant relationships with blokes at our club on field, off field and professionaly. Please stick together and have his wife Merryn and son William in your thoughts or prayers tonight. Our thoughts also go out to our brothers in arms at the Western Park Cricket Club and also Bundoora United Cricket Clubs where JP spent so much of his cricket life, brightening their lives as well. 22.01.2022 COVID19 Update: Looks like a delayed cricket season if local football manages to get up and about. Earliest start date October 23rd, but hard to see it starting before the AFL Grand Final. Hopefully we use all of our rain cards on those weeks and have an uninterrupted run from there onwards!

19.01.2022 ***COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT*** The Yallourn North Cricket Club is pleased to announce Matthew Wakefield as our coach for the 2020/21 season. Wakey, who joined the club this season is regarded as one of the most experienced cricketers in the region, and after spending a year at the Rock he is excited to work with the boys next season to continue to work on the clubs development and convert some of good positions in games into wins! Wakey is a technician with the bat having colle...cted many batting awards across the journey, as well as team of the year selections and league representative honours. Were incredibly excited to have the experience of Wakey at the helm, and we look forward to the season ahead under his control and fresh new ideas and plans he has for the club both on field and off field. Up the rock!

16.01.2022 Special thanks to everyone who attended our Christmas Party on the weekend it was a lovely family event and was great to see so many families in attendance. A super special thanks to Cass Bailey who pretty much got the whole up thing up and running and made the evening.spectacluar with special thanks also to Stu Anderson for all his help JP for cooking up a storm, Chunky for his extended bar shift as well as Joshy V for helping out with Santas sack and everyone else who lent a hand when asked. 07.01.2022 RUDI BENCE MEMORIAL TROPHY YNCC V CATS CC SATURDAY 14TH DECEMBER VENUE: GEORGE BATES RESERVE 12 NOON C Grade This trophy has been struck by both Clubs and will be played for probably twice yearly in the highest grade possible at the time.... It is to honour the memory of a legend of both Clubs. Rudi was a member of the first two A Grade Premierships of the Yallourn North Cricket Club and a Life Member and Premiership player of the Cats Cricket Club. The game will begin with a short talk followed by a minute silence for his memory and in respect of his passing. 01.01.2022 On Monday the 6th of July the Yallourn North cricket Club hosted its Annual General Meeting, a restructure of the executive committee has occurred. Below is the 2019/2020 YNCC executive committee. John Wirz - President Aiden Lowater - Vice President Vacant - Treasurer... Nick Gooden - Secretary Id like to start by thanking the previous seasons committee in what was a year of mixed results with A grade showing growth in what was a challenging season, B grade getting a couple of good wins on the board with room for improvement and C grade having another Successful season but falling short at the end. Id like to personally extend many thanks to Nick Gooden for his recruitment in the past 12-24 months bringing strong numbers to the club to the point we were able to enter 3 sides. Exciting times ahead as we strive to develop and build a successful foundation for the years ahead. In the 2020-21 season we aim to have both Under10s and Under12S for this coming season and create a family environment. We also want to personally thank all of our sponsors who have continuously helped us your help is appreciated and we thankyou for your ongoing support as we look forward.
