Councillors have shown great leadership in approving the applications following a clear recommendation from council officers. The decision recognises the strategic importance of our site and the community benefits this world-class tourist destination and residential coastal village will provide to all of the Sunshine Coast. We’ll now start planning to build the first stage of Yaroomba Beach - the 5 Star Westin Coolum Resort & Spa, which will be the first 5 star resort developed on the Sunshine Coast in 30 years, plus all the public amenities that you will enjoy, including the event spaces, shops, cafes, surf lifesaving facilities, Coastal Discovery Centre and parklands.

20.01.2022 What started as a passionate community initiative three years ago has turned into a worldwide opportunity for @wyn.vogel.7 and fellow Sunshine Coast artists Pam Walpole and Alex Ashton. "The aim of the Yaroomba Beach Artist in Residence Program is to build a platform for Sunshine Coast artists to develop relationships and grow their studio practices more commercially and where possible, generate national and international exposure," Vogel said. "The program has included works...hops from renowned artists including Yuko Nagayama and Vasenoir Akira Murata both from Japan, as well as Muriel Buthier-Chartrain, from France. Every artist in residence workshops has been sold out with participants attending from across the region as well as Brisbane, interstate and overseas.
