22.01.2022 It’s official 100 Mile Horsepower Ranch received word that our 3 year temporary use permit was approved by the CRD! We can’t even begin to express how excited and relieved we are, especially after months and months of hard work. We couldn’t have accomplished this without the overwhelming amount of local and province wide support we received so thank you everyone! A sediment control plan must be implemented before we can hold any events. We will be completing that work in the ...coming months once we are in the appropriate seasonal window for such work. We do not have any plans to host any events at this time and we will be waiting for regulations to change regarding Covid-19 and the re-opening phases. Please follow our page for updates and work progress as we continue to develop the ranch into an incredible fun filled, family friendly place to camp and race! Long term we hope to become a permanent piece of the CRD community, our venue will promote tourism which will help boost the local economy while providing a safe place to experience the outdoors and motorsports.

21.01.2022 In light of the public hearing we would like to set the record straight as there seems to be some misinformation circulating. We never diverted any creeks. At the entrance to the property is a culvert that’s on crownland and has been un-maintained for many years. Overtime material has washed down and built up. In 2018 we saw a sudden melt that caused a lot of runoff and a high flow event. During that runoff the culvert became completely blocked and being new owners to the pr...operty we had no idea the culvert was even there. Due to the blockage the water breached over the road flooding out into several directions. It created a new path and once the water subsided we built a small berm along the road to prevent people from driving into the creek. During site visits by the Biologists inspecting the property it was then shared with us that the culvert needed to be fixed or replaced but that we weren’t allowed to do so until we acquired a Special Use Permit. The process to acquire that permit started in May 2019. We only just received the paperwork to finalize and pay a deposit on the permit in early October. We had to hire an environmental professional to not only create a Management Plan to fix the culvert but we then had to have him onsite to oversee the process. The other thing I’d like to explain is the Mud racing areas are a safe distance from the creeks. We would never let anyone drive in or damage the creeks. Most of the racing areas actually grew back over in 2018. Once the race event was over last year we took the excavator and leveled out the pits and pack them back down so they could dry out. This is actually standard procedure at all NWMRA races. We have since had our own trucks up to the property to play in the mud pits but the racing areas that were left untouched since last year are grown over still. So please before you make assumptions or spread misinformation if you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask us. We are working endlessly to make sure we are doing things by the book and acquiring the needed applications and permits.

04.01.2022 100 Mile Horsepower Ranch crew spent the long weekend doing some very overdue property care. There was a lot of mowing, hours of weeding whacking, tons of weed control and driveway grooming. The field was also cut and hayed. We want to say a big thank you to everyone that worked so hard this weekend! The property looks beautiful!
