24.01.2022 #YourADF continues to increase its support to State Governments as we all fight to combat COVID-19. 1/15 RNSWL continues to provide rapid assistance to NSW Police where required. #tenaxinfide

24.01.2022 The Regiment has been leading the Joint Task Unit (HQ) established to support NSW Police at vehicle checkpoints on the NSW-Victoria border as part of #OPCOVID19Assist. Now concluded, this adds to the large numbers of the Unit deployed on domestic operations, some for 6 months of this year. Well done Lancers!... #youradf #tenaxinfide

24.01.2022 EX Megidoo PMV insertion.

23.01.2022 Lancers have been at the forefront of trialling the Australian Defence Force’s latest generation of personal simulation training environment software. Originally designed to be run in specialised computer centres, the trial seeks to enable the real time creation, planning, execution and post-activity review of simulated battlefield scenarios. The key aspect of this technology is that each member can remotely access the system from home and simulate performing their role withi...n an operational environment. Officer Commanding A SQN 1/15 RNSWL, MAJ Derek Hayles outlined the training benefits of the trial in light of restrictions due to the COVID 19 pandemic. This initiative will allow 1/15 RNSWL to (remotely) increase the frequency of partnered ARA/ARes training it conducts in accordance with its allocated role, despite the current restrictions on interstate travel and at a reduced cost. It’s also a good highlight of the differing skillset the Army Reserve brings the civilian careers of the team implementing the system in our unit include senior IT professionals, and are already providing valuable feedback to the Sim Project Team. The part-time soldiers and NCOs involved in this project have utilised these civilian qualifications and skillsets in IT to build the networks and servers, and to configure the simulation software to run at home on their personal computers. The implementation trial by 1/15 RNSWL has been led by Lance Corporal Daniel Pedano, who is also an IT Manager. This simulation platform allows us to continue to build capability remotely. Soldiers are able to connect with their patrols and complete training scenarios run by their Patrol Commander or Troop Leader. This can be achieved from any location where they have access to their computer and an internet connection, Lance Corporal Pedano said. Lance Corporal Pedano highlighted the importance of the simulation platform in reinforcing tactical training, and the rehearsal of Standard Operating Procedures required to build a professional part-time soldiering force. The original trial and roll-out was part of 1/15 RNSWL’s remote training plan in response to COVID 19, however we have identified numerous benefits in continuing with this project. These include partnered missions with Regular and Reserve units interstate, more detailed analytics of missions than we could get in a live environment, and the potential to subsequently take the mission sets we’ve developed and use them in the actual Training Simulators, like the incoming Boxer Turret Trainer. It’s very exciting. Patrol Commanders and Troop Leaders have been able to achieve training outcomes from a remote location with minimal setup. We have seen a high level of engagement from the soldiers who are taking part in this trial and look forward to the next phase in our wider Squadron roll-out to expand our training capability. #tenaxinfide Forces Command - Australian Army 5th Brigade - Australian Army

19.01.2022 Instructors from B Squadron completed level one of the Army's Combative Program (ACP) and commenced level two. The ACP program is a highly dynamic course that teaches trainees to survive and win in the extreme close combat fight. This course is the culmination of a number of courses designed to prepare the Lancers for any contingency required of them. Watch for more updates tomorrow as the trainees put what they have learnt into practice within Reality Based Training scenarios. #tenaxinfide #yourADF 5th Brigade - Australian Army Australian Army

12.01.2022 A busy year for Army and the Regiment - good work by one and all. #tenaxinfide

12.01.2022 So many Australians served their country in war and peace but had to leave loved ones behind, not knowing when or where they would see each other again. This An...zac Day, we remember the sacrifices of all those seperated by service, those who kept smiling through - because they knew they'd meet again some sunny day. We recently hit record in a rehearsal of this Vera Lynn wartime classic, 'We'll Meet Again', sung by The Lancer Band's lead vocalist LCPL Elizabeth Smith, and an original arrangement by CPL Tom Urquhart - all rehearsed and recorded by our production team with MUSN Malcolm Ramsay & MUSN Nathan Albertini. #youradf #goodsoldiering #australianarmy #anzac #anzacday #lestweforget #wellmeetagain See more
